I do think rebounding and defense could be an asset but he was very raw as a player

He is better suited for South Carolina than us anyway. Wade doesn't like using big ole baws like gray.

I think it was more that he wants a guy who’s ready right now versus a guy who needs another year or so in the oven. Happy for him, he has the tools to develop into a hell of a player.

It’s a sign of how far Wade has elevated the program that a guy like Gray can’t stay on the roster here. It’s also a sign of how system oriented college hoops has become that a player like Gray doesn’t fit here. South Carolina is a good fit, Martin should get the most out of him. Hope he has great success as long as it’s not against us.
