....don't get so caught up in the position stereotype. The fact that La'el has been in the heat of battle negates much of your high school angle. Not picking on you, but he wouldn't be that shell shocked......he may even excel. Not something unreasonable to try when you KNOW what the current result is.

Josh started 13 games at left guard in 2009 and started 13 games at left guard in 2010. Josh at guard is not a liability.

apples and oranges. continuity is more critical for the oline unit than any other. BTW, I am not talking QBs/WRs......I am talking within position units.

it was in 2009.....MAYBE not in 2012. That remains to be seen. We'd all like to see it.

I'm just saying he's better at guard than he is at tackle. Surely you can see this?

OL continuity aside, how much do you think JoshD can improve compared to how much he would need to vs the Lemonier's of the SEC? Just a case of bad game or has his potential already maxed-out?

I don't want him on the field, honestly. I'd rather hurst, Collins, pj, wiliford and Vadal

How do 28 year old tackles give up sacks to Demarcus Ware? You'd think they would have their technique down by then!?

You forgot to add "making millions of dollars per year", but overall, a nice, sick burn.

His ability as a LT is maxed out......only thing he could do to improve it is become a mean badass scrapper. Play a little nasty/dirty and make the DE truly not want to come near him for fear of his safety. BUT, he's a quality young man and that will never happen and would just likely lead to other issues (penalties). Being nasty is an art!

I would really like to see him slide in at OG and review it. I sense he could be valuable there.

BUT, there is a reason we never see him in the Big Cat drill. He's not as strong as he needs to be and that is by God's hand not his.

At the end of the day, he's one damn hard working Tiger who's been through a lot for this team and nothing is more improtant than that. Despite my criticisms, I support this young man and hope he improves.

I get what you're saying. I'm just speaking to his attitude as a whole.

I sense he is playing tentative/tight due to mental hang up on injury or scrutiny or both. But, he is physically limited (not strong enough)....I believe.

As opposed to the 6th year senior playing a rebuilt, wreck of a knee and a calf problem to boot, who hasn't played tackle in probably closer to a decade.

Yup. Makes perfect sense.

This is called blind faith. Its what I think our coaching staff goes on more than I like.

Continuity for continuity's sake cost LSU 7 points on the road in a game where our offense scored one TD & a FG. Luckily our Defense scored points to help us win the game.

The continuity concerns we're having right now retarded our offense and especially our passing offense that we desperately need in order to compete against the biggest tests and teams on our schedule.

Right now, continuity for continuity's sake is what's preventing us from maxing out this offense's potential.

I understand injuries happen, but this failure to make any changes-or to even attempt-strikes me as somewhat similar to the gampelan and the "adjustments" we made on 1/9. More in a sense of, "We're gonna do it like this, and that's that," type of philosophy.

We had a month to get LC cross-trained at LT. Actually a little longer. We could've plugged him right in, and then had him there for Idaho, & then put him out there on the Plains.

I assure you the results would've been no worse. As previously stated, the left side of the line hemorraged in pass-pro just as they did in run-blocking, as Josh gave up several TFL's and stone-jobs by the AU defense in the run-game as well.

So we could've had over 4 weeks for Collins to rep and improve at practice and against two patsies and a sub-par SEC program.

Instead, we're gonna keep doing what we're doing, expecting a different result.

I think most of you can figure out where I'm going using that last sentence in my post. Its essentially the definition of stupidity: repeating the same behavior, expecting different results.
