Hell, the physically capable youngin' will likely not blow but a couple of assignments where the veteran consistently fails play after play.

I sound harsh, but I watched the play of JD and the guy just doesn't have "it".

right and Josh D has no room to grow and improve where Collins or Alexander would. And playing a younger guy, you are also at least biting the bullet on getting experience for next year. Josh D aint getting a 7th year (hopefully) so his shitty reps serve no purpose for the future either.

I have typically supported Les as he gets paid the big bucks, but a chimpanzee could watch last Saturday's game and see the disparity. It's common sense and 98% of competent college level coaches would support me.

At this point, I sense Les wanting to keep continuity along the line as a whole and giving JD support (TE, RB, etc.) time to time. I can't argue that this is totally wrong, but when your you most vital line position for QB safety is an abortion, that support is compromised.

Also, mitigating the LT play with another able reciever compromises other aspects of the game. AND, it negates the opportunity to help out on blitzes from the other side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least the kid recognized the deficiency. That's the first step, and arguably the most difficult, in making positive changes.

Hurst is a guard playing tackle to. His run blocking is great but his pass blocking leaves something to be desired to. If we don't get some athletic tackles in the game to pass block then get ready to see rivers and bolden and maybe even randall before the year is out. Mett will not make it mark my words.

I just can't bring myself to believe that this coaching staff is not exploring all options to fix the obvious edge protection issues.

...you better damn well believe that Muschamp, Spurrier, et al are......there's blood in the water now and the sharks are coming. It's instinctive, it's nature.

It's easy really. Line up Clowney over JD and load up the back side and blitz. Hopefully, Les is practicing screens and draws extensively with JD in the game and all opponents knowing his skill set (or lack thereof).

Are we exploring ALL options for this process, or just a select few?

bandaid and hope to get by.

Chase clement or another TE
Specer Ware/OBjr or another RB

that's the bandaide.

Maybe with that scenario coach feels we are best.
Maybe its more important to have Collins at run support at guard????

what's the problem? we all know who miles is by now. you have not been paying attention if you thought miles would replace jd after one game. the problem is recruiting to the scheme miles wants. both hurst and alexander are guards. I can't see how playing a 360lb alexander will work out at tackle. collins is the best athlete and we moved him to guard. so the guards at playing tackle and the tackle is playing guard. stud better get his stuff together.

Les has done this with every position since he became the HC. You can argue that he wins game but ultimately it's his way or the high way. Hes not going to change now.

No, they want the 5 star prospect who hasn't played tackle since high school to move to LT for SEC play, while josh d is at OG getting our run game blown the frick up. Then instead of being one dimensional, we're fricking no dimensional

....hold on cowboy. We are discussing the JD issue, so don't take that to make uneducated assertions.

ALL of Miles' linemen are geared for a run offense first. That is the offense he has in place. Trying to say they are playing out of position is not quite right. Hurst is fine at RT, but is much better at run blocking....is what it is.
