I thought the NCAA implemented a new rule last year that if a player was ejected for targeting, it was an automatic one game suspension? Was the penalty not for targeting? I don't remember.

He wouldn't be suspended if we had a big game

You can see his teammate 43 start waving for the return. We see everything from the eye in the sky. The players don't have that ability.

no one touched the intercepting player when he was down so the clock might have continued to run. There was a lot of confusion out there.

And a fair number of players probably don't know the rule either.

That's ridiculous. As if I could have even less respect for Les' dumb arse. He should have been suspended half a season.

You're projecting your knowledge of the game onto our players. That's really not a fair comparison. I'm trying to put myself into their shoes. That was a confusing play which we might have practiced during the week but maybe not.

In some cases, the coaches know the rules of the game and teach their players, but I think it's unfair to expect that to be the case on every team. There's a lot to work on during the week, and it's fair to assume that we might not have worked on that play in practice that led to the suspension. At least, I don't think we would have time to actually practice a last minute interception.

thats what happens when you get taunted,
in reality if Boutte thought the ball was live
he would have tackled him ,not lay him out

Embarrassing. Boutte is trending on twitter, and nearly 100% of the tweets by the sports pundits are slamming light ruling.

That was the dirtiest play in the SEC in at least 5 years.

I'm not even sure it was the dirtiest thing that game

Dial head hunting Aaron Murray was wayyyy worse, IMO.

I'm sure we work on throwing interceptions in practice, but really, who can practice an interception, fall down, get up, run and celebrate, whistle blow and clock it scenario? There's a lot that can go wrong there. We're not Michigan for crying out loud. Cut our guys some slack.

The line was terrible, and you want to kick off the lineman who had the best game? This is why we have a reputation for fans being clueless.

People want him kicked off the team for being a piece of shite. Nobody with a brain buys the "he thought the ball was live" excuse. The LSU program is bigger than any one player. Anything to win though, right?

This coming from a fan base that was screaming for Saban to kick his best offensive lineman off the team all summer.

You can't have it both ways, and I don't want my program represented by someone like that. That hit was as classless as it gets. There's no place for that.
