people can ask questions all they want. the info you get will be whatever it is you get also being a bunch of nothingness.

the saints never openly declared the timeline, back channel leaks are purposefully done.

Arguing over this shite is the last meaningful fricking thing in the world.

nobody is crying right now over their banks or etienne or bresee updates. tyson's history of hamstrings has everyone pissy over his new hamstring injury.

then i apologize, my brain was thinking you were meaning strictly a 4 week timeline.

He was on IR. By rule, that guaranteed he couldn't have played before week 5. That's what we knew. I estimated a couple of weeks in the preseason going by memory and it seemed very reasonable that Week 5 was a possibility. Looking at the calendar, it was even more reasonable than I thought.

they just updated you, he won't practice this week.

That's not a timeline.

I wonder if Mickey knows or has a target.

I wonder if Moore knows or has a target.

It is very possible that with the level of mismanagement this organization has, neither will know until Tyson is ready.

this is nonsensical. You should reword so that I can understand what you are trying to say.

This is what I suggest is the problem

ok. It's pretty topical given Gayle's comments, the general unhappiness with how the organization is being run under Mickey, and these specific comments.

exactly. Why do you think that is?

10 weeks for Banks. Nobody thinks he's close. There's no reason to ask.

Etienne is still within his 4 week IR window. There's no reason to ask.

Bresee is out for the year. There's no reason to ask.

People are pissy about that. But, it's a much bigger problem that there is no timeline attached to the injury and we are already overdue on what was an extended timeline to begin with for a non-specific hamstring injury (2 months).

you were told approximately 2 months.

We are one week past that pure approximation.

There is nothing concrete probably about the hopeful timeline.

Its radical that you are choosing to fricking have a cow about being told something which is exactly the reason why you don't get told something.

Sure. Don't you think, internally, there is some reasonable expectation/plan for his return? Do you think they won't know until it happens?

Shouldn't a new expectation be set? Another month? Another 2 months? Not going to happen this year?

I'm frustrated Tyson isn't on the field. But, I'm a lot more frustrated that I don't even know when to hope for his return.

I don't think fans expect concrete. I think they expect a reasonable timeline as it sits. Certainly, fans understand setbacks, slow progress, etc.

I'm "having a cow" about not being told something. They way you think of things is really backwards...but it completely represents the acts of the organization.

"We can't tell fans because the truth may be unpopular"

"We can't tell fans because if it ends up being longer, we'll have to explain that"

"We can't tell fans because they will question our decisions to draft him in the first place"

Fans express displeasure in being in the dark..."This is why we don't tell fans"

Zero to gain bud. Keep up the denial. Fans will be the first ones to bitch about being told truthful things.

Until he starts really testing his leg how can anyone say. All I know for certain is that they haven’t ruled him out for the year yet cause he would be IR’d

Obligatory Caleb Downs has a higher pff grade than both of our starting safeties.

We disagree.

You will get unfair fans criticism no matter what you do.

I supported the decision to draft Tyson. It sucks to see him hurt, but it was a known risk at the time and his upside made the decision easily justifiable.

I can't support how this has been handled since the injury.

It's frustrating as a fan. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone. And, I think the lack of communication hurts much more than it helps. Is it an implicit admission that he's way more fragile than we thought? Is it an implicit admission that the medical staff and training staff fricked up? Is it an implicit admission that they aren't even doing the right to left planning that we assume on injuries?

And, let's call it what it is. With the Paris game, and then the bye, and then the 21 day window, we are pretty much guaranteeing that this, at best, is bordering on a 3 month recovery for a non-specific hamstring injury.

That's a timeframe that is on the absolute extremes relative to other similar injuries. And, for a guy that was a known injury risk ahead of time, we might want to accept that this is currently looking like the worst case scenario.

If a month goes by and we still don't have a timeline, I think we are at the point where any reasonable person will be questioning whether Tyson comes back at all. Maybe that's where we are, already. And, maybe that's why Mickey doesn't want to answer the questions.

So, we think he hasn't been testing his leg yet in recovery? If that's the case after 2 months, then obviously we aren't close.

Man, I think you are lying to yourself. If, as Chad suggests, the team is withholding information because it doesn't want criticism, the team isn't going to IR him for the same reason. It is going to let you wonder and hope until there's either no reason to hope (record is too bad) or the writing is on the wall.

Been testing? Probably every day
Really testing to me is getting close to be able to start practicing. Who the hell knows my man. All I know is everyone is trying their best to get this man back on the field. I'm just happy not to be the young guy going through all this crap.

Well that’s the question everyone is asking. What is the timeline for when he’s able to return to practice.

The organization hasn’t given any real info other than “not this week”.

We are at 2+ months since the injury. We have no clearer expectation on return than we did then.
