Plus I like the idea of having a 3rd year player at PG next year after Hickey graduates.
We're really going to miss him once he graduates. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching him run the point for 3 years and coming upon his 4th.

Mickey and (especially) Martin seem to have just scratched the surface as to what type of players they can become. Gray and Hornsby (though not for LSU) both have performed well at the D-1 level. Add in a 3 year starter at PG who has had his share of big moments at LSU, and on paper this looks like a team that should do well in the SEC.
Next year's schedule is not out so it's unfair to predict records. However, with the expected make up of the SEC next year there is NO REASON this team shouldn't be at minimum in the top-5 of the conf. UK and UF will still sit at the top going into the season, but outside of maybe Ark., no one else will have as much talent as LSU. I lost a ton of faith in the coaching staff this past season, but they will once again have a great opportunity to make some noise in the SEC next season. Can they get it done is the question.

I can see Darby not coming back if he has been homesick and didn't enjoy the Louisiana atmosphere as he surely didn't have a good first year or get much playing time. Hammink would be the same thing I suppose. Don't know what CJJ feels about Bridgewater since we didn't get to see him play.
I just don't see anyone taking a walk-on spot. I know a lot of people like the idea of Hammink doing so, but I doubt it happens.

If Patterson qualifies, I think Morgan transfers. I'd hate to see that happen though.

JOB was never a crutch. He carried that offense when everyone else was afraid to be aggressive and score.
When JoB was off or defended well, the offense stayed the same. In those times, quite often, he didn't have the ability to pass out and instead kept the ball low and resulted in a TO.

Losing Morgan might be the least hurt of anyone though. We have Gray and Hornsby to man the 2 next season and they are both better than Morgan. I had high hopes for Morgan this season to see some major improvement but he noticeably got worse.

Darcy actually has transitioned really well. Has good friends here and seems to be enjoying himself.

It seemed like he was in a shooting slump all season. He's a better shooter than he showed last year though.

One thing Morgan did well was to be a force in the press. Other than Coleman, no one was more important to it's success.
And given that pressing was really the only thing we did close to well defensively last year, I think his loss was significant.

He's the best we have had in the last couple yrs, but he has to penetrate and shoot the ball better. When your guy handling the ball is shooting FT's under 60% and FG's under 40%, your team is going to have some struggles reaching that next level.

Only problem I have with Morgan in the press is his feet sometimes get lazy and he gives up a few too many blocking fouls in the press.
My only problem with possibly losing Morgan is who do we have to backup Gray and Hornsby? Still, Morgan won't be ready to go till January if Coach's timeline is right. That will make it tough for him to be effective. Especially when he had a lot to improve as is.

That's kind of the feeling I get as well. You want to see all of the guys succeed, but the reality is that next year's backcourt will be pretty full:
Hickey
TQ
Gray
Hornsby
Patterson
Morgan
Hickey is a Sr. so he's likely not going anywhere. Gray and Hornsby didn't sign/transfer to LSU only to leave without playing a minute. Same thing with Patterson as an incoming Fr. Really that just leaves TQ and Morgan as I don't see any of the post guys leaving

Yeah just a tough situation. Morgan's had a rough go as a Tiger.

The issue with Morgan is he wont be able to play till January... Plus not getting the offseason practice he needed to jump to next level player sucks. His best option is redshirt. Now if that means transfer and redshirt or stay here and redshirt IDK.
