Bad news. I hope he can win his appeal. I was looking forward to seeing him play this year.

Sucks because Mickey has good grades and all. Just his schools fault.

The schools recruiting these players at unapproved schools are just as much at fault in this. They knew the risk they were taking. If schools stayed away from the shady places, athletes would stop going there

Odds are they school is NCAA compliant, just both players probably didnt meet the state minimum requirements. The school probably lacked a decent guidance department or academic dean and these boys probably fell through the cracks.

This school has been a train wreck since its inception last summer. Watching live broadcasts of Prime Preps "administration" face the UIL district it was TV gold. You can find some interesting stories on the Dallas affiliates.

He committed to LSU before he even transferred.

and honestly, I don't understand why they're ineligible. It's no different than Oak Hill, Monteverde, or Findlay Prep.

I have a few sources that are saying, we have nothing to worry about, he'll be reinstated. These situations happen every year all over the country, even at worse schools.

I find it extraordinarily difficult to believe that a top prospect in the nation was not getting every counseling resource available. Further, I find it even less plausible that the counseling was deficient and inept to the point where they couldn't get a player NCAA qualified. Super unlikely on both accounts.
