Mixon wasn't even the starter on his college team.

Mixon is a good back, but with that being said, he played Big 12 defenses. That is all.

I thought guice could catch better out of the backfield... Fournette not the 3rd best in the draft.. If he's not the #1 then he definately the 2nd best

Questioning his vision is reasonable

Disagree. He's had the best vision of any back I've seen in quite a while. If the hole isn't there, he finds an opening somewhere. I don't think I've ever seen him just run into the back of a pile because that's where the gap was supposed to be.

Yep, he turned his body and made the catch over his head.

New Mexico

I remember telling friends that a man with that size and as big of arms as he has, incredible fluidity to reach over his head.

Then he did it again a few weeks later vs Ole Miss

He had 544 receiving yds his senior yr at St Aug and over 1000 for his high school career. But he lacks receiving skills?

He had a few nice catches in college. Problem here at LSU is that we BARELY threw him the damn ball. People such as MJD and Mike Farrell who say that LF lacks catching ability are fricking retarded.

No its not. Every scout paid to evaluate talent says his vision is one of his strengths.

There were several opportunities in the Alabama game this year for Fournette to cut back into a hole, and instead he just ran forward and did nothing.

the vision thing has started to become way overstated.

Exactly. People saw Mcelroy talk about TRich playing him in practice and people ran with it. No serious scout has questioned his vision. Its easy to call out missed holes when you have a birds eye view of the play and the field. LF likes running behinds a fb so he doesnt have to make decisions. That doesnt mean he cant make those decisions.

Im sure those holes looked wide open from your birds eye view of the play.
Bama is tailor made to stop lsu. Their front 7 has more players with a 1st rd grade than lsu's entire team.

shite, even a banged up lf7 had something like 180yds in his first 6 carries against ole piss. Lf7 is adrian peterson 2.0 imo. Who, like leonard, dealt with injuries in his final years in college that hurt his stats

Whats really great about LF is he doesn't have to come off the field on 3rd and long like AP does. AP still isnt a great pass blocker and outside of screen passes isnt that great of a rec. LF is a legit 3 down back.

Jones-Drew can suck it. Bastard cost me a at least 2 FF championships.

I really feel like LF will start his pro career much like his college career. His vision is good, but I believe it to be his only non-elite asset when healthy. Once he adjusts to the speed at the next level, we will all see his greatness return. There are a ton of analysts with extremely short memories. The only reason he didn't look immortal this season was because he was playing on a high ankle sprain from Week 1. He broke LSU's single game rushing record while only being able to run straight.

what? if he has 1 weakness, this is it, especially around the line of scrimmage. His open field vision is better.

as far as OP, the 3 RBs are all very close. I dont think its that insulting to be 3rd among them. Splitting hairs. Someone has to be 3.

Just a guess that Fournette has a longer better career than MJD.

There is something to the vision thing and not being patient. However, his ball skills are underrated. Les and Cam didn't really target him as a receiver and when they did, it was usually obvious. Plus, Harris would not have been adept at putting the ball in the right place for him.
Fournette will never be Barry Sanders but he could be Jim Brown.

Maybe Mixon can show Fournette, the proper way to punch a woman in the face.

Please link 1 reputable scout saying his vision isnt a strength. Just because his speed and physicality are better, it doesn mean his vision is a weakness.
Weve already established your opinion on rbs isnt great.
