Aaron Brooks had more TD's and less INT's than Archie Manning as a Saint.

Archie Manning had more career INT's than he had TD's.

Dale didn't make the tournament until his 7th year and his last 4 year were really bad.

The 15 years in between he made 13 NCAA and 2 NIT appearances. He made some great runs, but also lost in the first or second round 10 times of those 15, and most of those against teams we were expected to beat with a couple of exceptions.

But that run was our golden age in basketball.

Can we ever hope to be as good? I think so?

Can we ever hope to be better? I hope so. I think if Florida can do it we should be able to. And that should be our goal.

Geaux Tigers!!

Brown as recruiter and Brady as coach. That would have been a great combination!

What you're not understanding is that when Dale took over the LSU program was shite. Dale took a dying and dead program and brought it to life...

Then killed it again. Draconian Sanctions?
Brady inherited four scholarship players.
It appears that Johnny Jones may be the perfect fit for the Tigers. I hope he has a long successful career that makes us forget the failures of the two most successful HCs in the the modern era.

I was not a aDale fan but, Prior to him, with the exception of pete, we REGULARLY SUCKED BIG TIME. Dale put us on the national map. I think he should have /could have done better with what he had, but without him, we were the bottom of the barrel in the SEC.

Why aren't you saying who they lost to? The team LSU lost to had 3 players that played in the NBA.

Why? Guy was a giant dick and outside of two maybe three seasons he was pretty mediocre.

Because he filled a need when no one else wanted the job. Heck we were turned down by the Ole Miss HC. What is he doing now. Despite Brady's lack of tact when dealing with the fans, he brought in some exciting players and upset some powerful programs while he was here. Wait until Johnny gets us to the final four before you get too smug. I hope it is soon.

Building players' character was a strong point of his,

I raised four kids. All of them turned out great. You build character with discipline, the right moral teaching, and by setting a good example. I'm not in a position to know if Dale Brown did the last two, but he most emphatically did not do the first.

Also, Dale Brown's teams usually played hard, but they did not prepare hard (Character: What you do when no one is looking). That's why he never really came close to a NCAA championship in spite of having some staggeringly talented teams.

Better yet, never advanced past the 2nd round 3 years with Shaq. That is truly a shame. I did like Dale though

Dale was scheduling great teams out of conference all those years. Brady, like Trent, was playing these piss ant schools to boost their records.

LSU made the tourney like 8 or 9 times in a row. any program would be proud of that. it was only one of a very few schools to have that many at the time.

The UCONN loss was flat out embarrasing. We didn't even compete against a team we should have beaten.

Ga. Tech was a very good team, but the fact that we had to play them in the second round was because we underachieved in the regular season.

Same goes for Indiana Shaq's last year.

Dale Brown was a great promoter. He a was charismatic salesman and put LSU on the basketball map. If he had stepped down after the incident with Shaq and the Tennessee player,he could have lived out his life with great honor. We could have hired a reputable coach, never had probation, and LSU could have been a great program. He didn't and the rest is history.

Dale scheduled games against Duke, N Carolina, Ucla, Georgetown, Arizona, UNLV, Michigan, Houston, and Notre Dame. He also played Kentucky twice a year, not once. The fact that he won many of these games helped make LSU relevant. LSU was in the national eyeand it was because of the program Dale built single handedly.

Hopefully, Jones will schedule the same way. It will create interest in the fanbase and will put asses in the seats.

Brady scheduled some big games, but not nearly as many as Dale.

Oh, and nobody could promote a big game like Daddy Dale.
