I think what he is getting at is high college performance followed by high NFL performance right away. None of the others come close as far as college performance.

What is more impressive is it’s coming off an injury his rookie season that has ended many careers. He won’t be denied. To have the fricking bengals one game away from the Super Bowl in year 2 after that is unsurpassed. And they still have a shite line.

Mahomes vs Burrow is the next Brady vs Manning type AFC battle only more even in terms of SB appearances.

What do you mean by "transcend"? Surpass? Exceed? Burrow probably had the greatest season for a QB in college football history. He hasn't transcended what he did in college in the NFL and he hasn't transcended what any QB has ever done in the NFL.

Manning?

Eta - I'm making a big assumption that I know what the op is asking.

Listening to NFL radio on Sirius, they said it was the 1st time ever that a QB had won the national championship & taken his team to a conference champioship game within 3 years

No way Burrow doesn’t win multiple Super Bowls barring major injury.

Manning threw 28 interceptions his rookie year & had a QB rating of 71.2.

Considering the state of the Bengals, I would say no. Not even these guys.

It would be hard to argue against what Marino did in his first two years. Especially considering the rules of the game at that time. It was much harder to pass the ball then.

When you consider that the guy went LSU and brought them to the promised land in 2 years, and then goes to Cincy and brings them to the conference championship game in 2 years, it’ll be very hard to find a QB that went to two teams in situations that weren’t very good and brought them that far in such a short amount of time. I’d like to see other qb’s that had that much accomplished in such short time in college and then the nfl. Please show me.
