Pretty sure firm athletic dept. policy is that an athlete has to be gone for 10 yrs. before a statute can be raised. As for a statute for Saban, based on length of service at bama , compared to his length of service at LSU, he is recognized as an Alabama head coach. No way does he get a statute at LSU.

Statues Proposed:

1. Doc Fenton (Better than Thorpe) 1908
NCAA founded 1906! No Heisman then!

Doc Fenton

Consider this: The Tigers, in an era of the five-point touchdown, were actually close to achieving “point-a-minute” status. LSU scored 442 points in 450 minutes, and surrendered only one touchdown in their 10-0-0 season.

2. Joe Burrow (Heisman) 2019

Joe Burrow Statue pose idea

3. Coaching Legends (winning multiple NCs at LSU)

Lets see what he does in the NFL and how he handles himself in the NFL. Money and fame can change people, fast. Not saying its going to happen to burrow, but lets give him 5-10 years and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid in the NFL to damage his image.

I predict he will have a statute and jersey retirement on the 10 year anniversary of this past season.

If you go back and look at threads after the NCG the LSU requirements were listed for statue building. There were about 5-10 bullets listed and Joe meets most of those. However, I believe the minimum time was 5 yrs removed from school. In fact they were even discussed in The Advocate at that time

Gtfo, Saban never gets a statue and Miles has to wait whatever the regular interval is. They can go ahead and commission Joe's

If they put up a statue of Saban on the Hallowed ground around Death Valley. Some red neck(possibly yours truly) is gonna hook up an F350 to it, rip it off the pedestal, drag it down the interstate to the first Walmart in Alabama and auction it off to the Saban worshippers!

He does not deserve a statute at LSU.

Period. Full stop.

That was, probably, the best team the South produced until the 1950s and certainly the best team any Southeastern school would field until the formation of the SEC.

Autocorrect?

There should be a statute in Louisiana for building statues of former coaches and players.
