then there is absolutely no way he's not full time OC with SE stepping down.

I mean, SE makes what, 700k? no way they could be co-OCs with that much disparity

i think SE will step down to coach QB's and TE's

He makes $410k this year, why on earth would you think they would only give him a $40k raise?

Well consider this

Coach O is on the lower side of the salary

Coach E isn't that highly paid

Coach Aranda is the only who is above market

LSU got their coaches for cheap, we have some play room on expenses for other coaches. Not sure how much longer coach E is going to be around

I don't think either is correct.

450k seems too low. 1.8 mil would make him the highest paid OC in the country and a top 5 overall coordinator in pay.

If the 1.8 number if correct, I am imagining 1.2 mil with 0.6 mil worth of bonuses that he could get paid out. Maybe they also give him some non-contractual bonuses this year for how well his offense was implemented.

Don't bet on it. Ask Bret Bielema if Arkansas is still send him his checks.

Dude, that’s almost 10%. Cost of living is what? 2.5%?

Sweet raise if you ask me.

this is the way it is going to happen. I assume that this is the case because of the idea that Ensminger needs one more year for his pension. That pension is with the state. Thus, I believe that Steve E being a consultant paid by TAF does not qualify towards the pension.

Assuming this is all true, Steve E will be remain on the official coaching staff for next year. After that, I would think that Steve E will move to a consultant position. He is well connected around the state, and is well versed in breaking down film.

It is the lack of ego that has this coaching staff humming along. Coach O and Coach Steve E are paid well below market value presently. And LSU is not afraid to open the wallet for the coaching staff.

My $.02.

So you think they negotiated a 10% raise after the year we've had? Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? O has already shown he's willing to sacrifice pay on his end to make sure his assistants are getting paid what they deserve. There's no way in hell anyone would think a 10% raise is what Brady deserves, regardless of the title. Who gives a frick what his title is? If they name him head waterboy but they keep doing what they're doing then it's cool. It's not like job titles mean anything.

It’s probably 1.8 and we’ll learn after the season he’s the new OC

If you don't know what has to happen at season end, I don't know what to tell you. It includes someone leaving to make sure someone stays. And there needs to be a dedicated QB coach that is a great evaluator. We need to be able to do what Ohio State does whith QB's.

Knowing Coach O, he will probably sacrifice his own personal salary to keep Aranda, E and Brady happy!! Don’t think O would ever demand Saban type money

They better do whatever it takes to keep Brady or better find someone equivalent, if they want the success to continue. Ensminger is not a great offensive coordinator and never has been. His resume is very weak, and the success against Bama proves that Brady made the difference. Ensminger was terminated from every other coordinator position that he has ever had. Just because you learn the RPO system doesn't mean that you can continue to duplicate the success. He would need to be creative, imaginative, and constantly improving/ implementing. Ensminger has not shown the ability to do this at any point in his career. Brady is the brains in this operation and someone with his abilities will be needed to get better. If a coordinator is just using what they once learned from someone else, people will surpass him quickly. Brady will always add new wrinkles and expand on a weekly basis with creative concepts. Pay him whatever it takes and don't worry about feelings. This is a business, and taking care of buddies will get you fired. Saturday made it very clear that a potent offense is the only way to beat Bama.
