He’ll be promoted to OC
I’m good with 1.8

Could be the precursor for the full hand-off. Ensminger retires or moves back to a position coach or analyst. Remember, he didn't want to do this in the first place.

This news is in some ways even bigger than the single Bama win.

I'm hoping Co-OC's for another year.
Then Ensminger stays on as an analyst for a couple years to coast into retirement and get off the recruiting trail.

Isn't it the case that E generally determines the type of play and either calls it if it's a run or hands off to Brady if it's a pass?
Not that I've seen anything to confirm the in-game relationship. I guess I just made that up as a logical way the passing game coordinator would be involved.

Pay the man as LSU is saving a ton on advertising and would imagine merch sales will only get better

Awesome. I've been worried about this. Great to hear.

While we are at it, CEO needs a major raise. He currently makes the same salary as the Arkansas coach that was fired a couple days ago with an 0-14 record.
Ed Orgeron needs to be paid in accordance with the top coaches in the land, as he is in fact one of the top head coaches in the land. Being the 30th highest paid college head football coach is an injustice to the job he has done at LSU.

Its been said that Ensminger is the one to put the play call in, but listens to suggestions on play calls every play from Brady, then decides if he agrees or not and calls whatever play he feels is best. I think he agrees a lot and calls the play Brady suggests and only occasionally overrides him.
Passing game coordinator means he installed his route trees into the offense and works with receivers and QB on timing, reads, hands practice, etc.

Unlikely, Culotta always jumps the gun to make the story about himself. Coach E has wanted to retire. I'm betting a deal that includes him becoming OC when that happens. He should work with E for at least one year to learn all the things that involve being an OC other than analyzing plays, etc.

All coaches should be paid their market value, whatever that may be.

Beautiful. Great job by O and Woodward.

I do'nt think E cares at all, which is why Brady is getting the money. E didn't want to be the OC, but did it anyway, and i'm sure he has no problem handing the torch over to Brady, which is evident by this deal. I don't think either of them care what title they have going forward. Everyone knows Brady is the OC, and E doesn't care that everyone knows that, and Brady is pretty damn happy now if that's the new deal numbers. I like the idea of having E mentor Brady and help along the way, but really allowing Brady to be the OC. It helps a lot that E is ok with that type of scenario. He's been a true tiger since O brought him along.
Yeah, what we witnessed this year with Steve Ensminger is something that we only would've gotten with a true Tiger through and through. How many other men would have been willing to put their egos aside and hand over so much control and responsibility to someone like Brady? I mean, how many people at any job are willing to train their replacement?
This magical season, and the bright future ahead, are due to the love of Louisiana and the love of LSU that you see in our head coach and OC. They love LSU more than they value their own careers.

quote:so acording to you LSU should lowball and go cheap with Brady because its not all him this year?
How much are we going to have to pay Ensminger since he's the guy that actually runs the offense according to some dopes here?
Its thinking like that that will put LSU back behind Alabama

I can't imagine Joe calling very many run plays.
It's pretty amazing how well these two guys work together, however they do it. Different generations, different styles, I assume different personalities. Turned out to be an incredible pairing of minds.

Idk what the official role is, but my post was to poke fun at the people who spent the early part of this season trying to tell us this is E's offense. That we saw glimpses of it last year.
This deal, if true, says thry were wildly incorrect.

And I don't think he gives a damn that someone else is being paid more. That man is a Tiger through and through. Just pay Brady what he needs in order to stay. I'll buy extra beer at games to do my part
