Dude, we finished the past season ranked 6th, with tons of talent coming back, including a star who would've been one of our 4 best players if he hadn't been hurt in the first game. We also have a top recruiting class that's even better in that we got our best players at our positions of greatest need (CB and RB).

With a more experienced OL, with a year of growth and development of our WRs, and especially with Joe Burrow mastering RPO concepts under Joe Brady's direction, we had better be able to finish in the top 4 and make the playoff.

VolTiger13, I'm neither happy nor unhappy with the hire. I just want our offensive to improve and I don't give a flying $@%$$@ how!! I'm just confused as to why everyone on this thread is rejoicing so much. I mean this guy is only 28 years old, he played/coached at the collegiate juggernaut of William & Mary, was a graduate assistant at Penn St. for 2 years and worked as an offensive assistant for the Saints for 2 more. Now, granted the Saints had an explosive offensive those two years, but does that mean Joe Brady was responsible for that? Maybe he was & maybe he wasn't, I don't know. But on paper he just doesn't look all that exceptional. Yet everyone is acting like he's Tom Brady instead of Joe Brady?!?!

I hope he is the next Sean McVay; but just because Sean McVay is a young, successful offensive wizard doesn't mean that every millennial in the coaching profession will be also.

So you're predicting 13-0

Just want to get this prediction.

Expecting and predicting are two different things

That's convenient.

I expect 15-0 every year then.

Then why aren't you more critical of the coach that's clearly not meeting your expectations?

Very exciting hire

The upside is astronomical. This guy clearly has a lot going for him.

You get a feeling we could by getting on this train very early

The flip side is that he is so young he really has no track record.

But realistically he’s being brought in to help E bring his passing game up to date.

Solid hire overall.

I think RPOs are the way to go

I wonder how involved he will be. Is he going to have passing game coordinator title?

My biggest fear, is that maybe this guy is a guru, and some of his concepts E either doesn't understand, agree with or be willing to change to. Ofcourse that's never happened here...

Uh, he wasn’t

Billy Gonzales 2.0

Luckily Burrow is already a finished product at this point. If this guy can just provide some fresh perspective on the red zone approach, it’ll be a huge boost for this offense.

The real test for E, this kid, Cregg, and the rest of O’s offensive staff will be when Urban Meyer’s QB is gone and we have to follow up with a guy developed solely in BR.

Yes. If you read the information in the announcement that's exactly what he's going to be

Wasn’t Sullivan hired to do the same thing? Remember when he visited all those NFL teams to show them how to coach? Why not just hire an OC whose passing game is already up to date?

I think you’re right that we need to incorporate RPOs into the offense I’m just not sure it’s going to happen. 0 said we’d do it this season but we didn’t so it’s hard to believe that he’ll change that now. What the admin needs to do is apply pressure to Orgeron, even if it’s only as a motivational tool. When he’s comfortable and secure he reverts to his old ways and his clammed up offensive approach. When he was fighting for the job he was much more loose and he followed up on his promises like letting his OC call games the way he saw fit. Look at how the offense improved after the post Troy meeting and for the Fiesta bowl after the A&M loss. It’s a weird dynamic but with someone like 0 there has to be a threat of consequence to get the best out of him.

It'll be an extremely high career booster if he can improve the passing game at LSU.

He'd get NFL HC offers.
