Give him a break, coaches had him on defense for a year (what a decision)
He's been on offense for about 20 minutes.
He's got the tools to be great, he and Durham will kick butt, get ready.

Terrible Take. Outside of course Daniels you have Lacy, Aaron Anderson, Greg Brooks, Bernard-Converse, Jordan Jefferson, Alexander, Miles Frazier, Diggs before the knee injury, and Swinson.

Since Polian left. The year one portal evaluations were wildly successful. But he’s poison on the field, so…

Lol

The roster was so bad, some of the transfers were simply to add numbers to positions

Kelly has been great in the portal and it would be a lot more noticeable if he actually inherited a complete roster

Yall think JK Johnson left Ohio st for any other reason then he wasn’t in their future plans ?but expect him to be a solution to a problem at lsu ?

They are the perfect example of why relying so much on transfers is just not sustainable. The best programs that maintain success will recruit great high school classes and develop them into starters and depth and sprinkle in some transfer guys at a few places you might be weak in that particular season.

The 105 scholarships is really gonna help a lot of schools, but maybe a school like LSU more than most because it’s the flagship program of the entire state and almost everyone grew up pulling for them. So the 3 stars who aren’t expecting to play right away and are willing to stick around and develop, could turn into very valuable depth pieces in their 3rd, 4th, even 5th years in the program. And we also have an advantage in the portal with some LA guys who might have slipped through the cracks and gone somewhere else but always wanted to play at LSU can come back and play for the home state school.

BK cheap on portal acquisitions.
He didn’t settle for a reasonable salary for himself though.
Saving LSU money for his own buyout?

Bk turns his nose up at that and LSU lets people outbid them easily in NIL when it comes to portal players

You know who doesn’t get outbid? 0-3 Florida State.

The portal is a fickle bitch. Few sure things exist and team chemistry is extremely important. I think Kelly will be proven right on this.

It’s not talent evaluation it’s the fact that we bargain bin shop in the portal. Any good proven player is going to want to get paid in this landscape of college football and Bk turns his nose up at that and LSU lets people outbid them easily in NIL when it comes to portal players. It’s still malpractice to me that we had the obvious holes we had on defense and we just punted on addressing them

We didn’t spend on the portal this year, but we are spending a shitload on HS recruiting now. I get the desire to just plug holes, but look how that shite worked out for us last year. They definitely paid a few guys who ended up either busting or not even playing. Look at how depending on the portal has worked out for FSU, even after two years of killing it there. It’s always going to be that inconsistent.

I know this transition from depending on the portal to rebuild to HS sucks, but it has a higher percentage chance of paying off. As long as we keep paying and bringing the classes in, that’s going to be better than anything more than picking up one or two hired guns to plug holes.

Fsu did lose a lot to the draft.

Verse
Keon coleman
Fiske
Renardo green
Trey Benson
Jarrian jones
Johnny Wilson
Jaheim bell
Starting qb Travis
Tatum betheune

And a couple others.

I rather build through high school and supplement like bk is doing. Imo they just needed to add an elite guy at safety and corner this yr since they didn't really have a stand out at either position.

No more than we did and we would be 3-0 with their schedule.
