A one loss Bama at anytime will not be enough to get in over undefeated Oregon, KSU or Notre Dame

The strength of schedule will not be there for Bama.

The only 1 loss team that has a chance of getting in over an undefeated Oregon/KS and ND is LSU. Strength of schedule will overcome Oregon and KS.

If LSU and ND win out that will be the pairing. If Alabama wins out its ND and Alabama.

Nobody wants Oregon or KS in the NCG.

So you are saying that if LSU somehow upsets Alabama and finishes 12-1 SEC Champs, an 11-1 Bama will get to the NC game ahead of LSU?

I hate to agree but I think your right. I think a one loss LSU winning the SEC is better than the other 3 undefeated. However, I think the nation and national media is sick of SEC dominance.

If Bama loses to LSU watch how fast the talking heads forget the previous Bama wins. They'll immediately become a team that lost to the only really good team they played. That will be the narrative. The whole country is sick of the SEC.

And playing Georgia in the SECCG won't help either Bama or LSU. An LSU win over Bama probably breaks up the SEC title game run. The only undefeated a one loss SEC team can out poll is KSU - maybe. ND and Oregon go ahead.

I don't see anyway that a one loss SEC team isn't ranked 4th in both polls behind undefeated Oregon, ND, and Kansas State. LSU would have to make up a TON of ground in the computers to get to number 2 in the BCS standings. I think Jesse Palmer is wrong.

If there were only two undefeated teams (and therefore LSU could get to number 3 in the human polls) then they would have a chance to make up the ground in the computers to get to number 2 in the BCS but even that would be a huge stretch.

ND and KSU don't play conference title games. Oregon and Alabama or 1 loss SEC team. Extra game is the tie breaker IMO. That was what hurt OSU chances last year. Had they played a CCG and won they would have been in like Flint.

I agree with the Gump on this one. Maybe (but probably not) a 1-loss Florida would get in as well but not LSU. Our embarrassment in last years NCG is still fresh on voters minds. And unfortunately human votes still make up a large portion of the BCS formula.

Eta:
Let me put it this way. I would be surprised if a 1-loss LSU (or any other 1-loss SEC besides Bama) gets in over an undefeated from a major conference or ND.
And I wouldn't be surprised at all if a 1-loss Bama gets in over an undefeated from a major conference or ND.

They better since K State and ND dont play a conf champ game

This is actually the reason that it's possible, but it's too early to tell if it would happen. The bump from the one-loss SEC school's extra win in the SECCG could be enough to vault them over IF the human votes are split up enough between the top teams. An undefeated Oregon goes and I don't believe that an undefeated ND gets left out, either, but K-State's record won't look that impressive. If Oregon were to lose a game and it's between an undefeated K State and ND and a one-loss SEC team, I would not be the least bit shocked to see an SEC - ND matchup.

Well, Bama could lose to LSU and make the SECCG if LSU loses to Miss State, Ole Miss or Arkansas.

But LSU is in decent shape if it can win out. Just need some help
