In what way?

Sloppy in that he doesn't supervise his players? ala cUM and cBP?

Sloppy in that he doesn't develop his players? I can point to several prospects that were not rated well out of H.S. that received illustrious NFL contracts.

Sloppy in his game management? He's out-coached most of the big coaches in the SEC on several occasions.

I don't get your point in mentioning that.

Shall I geaux on? Or are you not content to let me have my opinion and just disagree with it without point-by-pointing me about how Earl Lane-who was a frickin' cop in Tampa, FL-was somehow so qualified to coach the DL at LSU?

So qualified, in fact, that Glenn Dorsey let Ed Orgeron work him out at LSU's pro day in front of the Scouts?

I can do this all day. If I'm not too busy, I will. But, you'll relent, hopefully.

Okay... and I can say Pelini, Fisher, Chavis, Robinson, Moffitt, Kragthorpe, Wilson, Porter, Gonzales, Ensminger...

Even Crowton, in his first year. I'd even consider his hiring a success given the last few years considering how we excelled the first year he was here.

So for every bad hire he's made, he's made 2 or 3 good or great ones. And it seems odd that hiring assistants would be the defining characteristic of a "caretaker"

And then you bring up Ole Miss 2009, quite possibly the only legitimate blemish on his six-year tenure. Good for you. IDGAF what you say about Tennessee in 2010 because we won that game.

Using the same fact to make 4 different points doesn't count. The PROMOTION of Peveto & Mallory to Co-DC was a mistake Coach Miles made & FIXED (in quite a fine way I might add).

It's nothing personal but JJ is not a good QB and will not lead LSU to a MNC. We have had one of the worst passing games in the nation the past two years and he is still being defended. I don't care how many wins he has he will never be in the company as JR, Flynn, Davey, Mauck or Tyler. They helped their teams win and JJ holds his team back. He is very lucky LSU is so talented. If he played during the Tyler days his record would be very different.

If that were to happen, his college career would resemble Jason Campbell IMO. A below average qb that blossomed into a solid player his senior year. Campbell was terrible too his first couple years. Anyone who is so prideful that they can't admit they would be happy, is dumb. Winning changes everything.

If he is instrumental in winning a national title this year, he will be remembered for a long time and his legacy then will be something many would die for.

We've been spoiled recently with QBs that were wildly successful and instrumental in various ways to the program... Davey, Mauck, Russell, Flynn... they were all incredibly effective.
Totally missed my point. Mauck was in reality no better a QB after the National Championship Game than he was before; it was purely a change in how he was perceived. That became his legacy; he was a great QB because he led us to the Championship. If Jefferson does the same, the result will be the same; however good he plays (which would presumably be at least somewhat better if we're going to manage a National Championship) the perception will be much better because he will have led us to a National Championship.

He's unsure, hesitant, makes bad decision, and he's incredibly inaccurate.
If he plays exactly the way he has the previous two years, and we still win the National Championship (which I find unlikely), he will still be perceived as being better because people will recall the big plays he makes along the way more so than the hesitation, inaccuracy and bad decisions. Just as much of Mauck's inaccuracy and poor decisions has been washed away by the memory of the National Championship win. Jefferson would most likely be recalled as not quite as good as Flynn or Mauck, but would become much more favorably compared to guys like Davey, Booty, Tyler, etc.

He's not the gamer that Herb Tyler was, but he's actually done better in terms of W's compared to Herb. That's because he's many times more of an athlete than Herb was at the QB position, though with far less juke.

Maybe I'm high, but I would think the tremendous talent surrounding JJ compared to that surrounding Herb might be a better explanation of the difference in wins and losses.

Fisher? You think HE kept Fisher? LOL @ your use of Jimbo Fisher as some sort've validation of Miles as some sort've response to me.

Pelini is another one. You think Les pulled the trigger on that one, do you? Guess you don't know what his small child's favorite thing to say in front of company to elicit some nervous laughter was.

Let's just say Bo don't share your opinion of Les. LOL.

But the kicker is Joe Robinson. If you think Miles doesn't regret that hire and didn't push him out of town, you're DREAMING.

Go check the Bowl Game Tape. Go look at what happens after Tharold Simon is called for a too many men penalty on a punt play. Simon doesn't want to be out there. Knows there are 11 men on the field already. Knows it.

Yet JoeRob pushed him out there. Miles almost had a meltdown.

I can't really ride you too hard for that one, as I thought JoeRob was much, MUCH more highly regarded by Miles, myself.

I was very, VERY wrong.

But, your use of him as some sort've counterpoint sort've allows me to gladly give you the last word on this one. It's obvious you know way less than I do, which is hardly anything about the inner workings.

Make it count!
