How am I making an arse out of myself? All the teams we've played thus far has had fits with our D, especially by creating turnovers. We beat MSU with our D and with field goals, we beat UO with turnovers, we beat WVU with turnovers and field position. I doubt JJ would've fricked any of that up. YOU do not know how much he's improved.
Because we kept teams in games last year because of turnovers, particularly those by JJ. The defense performs the same against UO, but if we turnover the ball, who knows how that game turns out. Fact is that we didn't.
Turnovers against MSU would've been critical, but we didn't turn them over.
To simply assume that no matter who we had back there at WB we were going to win is completely idiotic. If we got the JJ from the Bama/A&M games I agree. If we get the JJ from the 3/4 of last season than it isn't even close to assured.
We kept games close last year because of our own offensive turnovers, not because our defense wasn't as good as this years.

How do you know this?
No one knows this, but it fits what some want to believe.
Kinda like some were so sure the guy in the video dressed all in black was JJ that it didn't matter that there was no way that guy was 6-5...it just fit what they wanted to believe.

Honestly? I don't know which ones we would have lost. Nobody knows that, just like nobody can KNOW we'd have won all 4 without him.
UO comes to mind seeing as it was a close game until the 4th. If JJ throws an INT or fumbles like he did last season at times, we may not get the momentum in that game.
MSU looked an awful lot like last season. We may have done better in that game with JJ running, but we may also have had INTs that completely changed the game.
I think making claims either way definitively is just stupid.

Exactly what I was thinking, and now Miles is shoving him down our throats.
Les had better be careful or he risks really messing with the team chemistry that had been so good up until the Kentucky game.
Seriously . . . you people have gone off the deep end. You've lost all sense of proportion and rationality.

All 4 possibly. Why do you keep asking stupid questions that their isn't a definitive answer too? The guy was the worst QB in the SEC last year, who knows if he got any better? He hasn't played meaningful game time yet for anyone to know.
I do know we won those games with JLee playing really good, so why even bother with it in the first place? Stop living in the past and look towards the future.

JLee and his not having to look over his shoulder is what has led this team to such a dominant start, period.
JLee has played well, but the defense and Tryann Mathieu is what led LSU to such a dominant start, make no mistake.
And why is Lee the only player in the history of sports who everyone is so terrified of him "looking over his shoulder?" Do you think he's that big of a fricking pussy? Perhaps I think more highly of him, but I don't think he's a count like you guys are suggesting. Should we go ahead and suspend Mett too? Wouldn't want Lee to look over his other shoulder and see him either.

...people are missing out on the fact that Lee has made LSU look their most dominant on offense in 3+ seasons.
Lee and Krags and Stud. But that's not a very high standard, and to be honest, I'd say our offense has looked far from dominant this season. Certainly there is room for improvement.

JJ put himself in a bad situation, kicking people in the head or not, he got suspended 4 games which IMO is fair even if this was labeled a misdemeanor from the start.
I agree. But he was suspended for those games, missed 2 great road trips, lost his starting job, and became one of the most vilified players in LSU history. I'd say he's paid his debt. He's back on the team. I liked what somebody said the other day about how it's time for the JL lovers to come down off their fricking cross already. Let's all just move on and support whoever trots out there behind center.

Do we win all 4 games without Luke Muncie?

JLee playing really good
Define really good? Your post would have been valid if you said he played mistake or turnover free. He is not really good, he has cut down on the turnovers. Which I'm all for, and definitely do not have a problem with him starting.

Lee is tough as nails, imo.

You are missing the point, LSU's defense, as someone previous stated, is why LSU has been so dominant.

think there are just some butt hurt posters in this thread.
Let me preface by saying my own opinion on JJ as starter over the past 2 seasons is that Lee should have gotten more time. JJ was erratic and inconsistent to put it mildly. He has however played well at some times like the A&M game.
Now to the presser, first of all, anyone who thinks he was gonna stroll in and say he did it and apologize for it is just not paying attention.
JJ, and all of his lawyers from Fisher to his current team have maintained his innocence. He remains under indictment for a misdemeanor (as well as the threat of a civil suit) and I am absolutely certain he was advised not talk about the specifics of the case nor make anything that could be construed as an apology.
Specifically to what he did say, come on, we have all watched JJ talk over the years and quite frankly it seems more often than not that English is not his first language. He just is not comfortable in that setting and I do not believe he has ever been able to express his thoughts in a "press" savvy way.
Additionally you know he had to be more nervous this time than any other time he has spoken to the press.
Anyway, the kid took responsibility, said he missed the game and his teammates, was happy to be back and believes he can help the team win and wished that no one else would have to go through what he has.
Did he do it smoothly and with media savvy? No he did not. But again when has he ever?
All in all he did fine.
Remember regardless of what you think of JJ is that the Grand Jury has already found that the BRPD at the very least over charged him and he had a 4 game suspension for a misdemeanor charge for a bar fight that he still claims he did not participate in.
That is a rather severe punishment.
Finally Lee is our starter and I believe will remain our starter unless injured and JJ will play the role basically Lee did last season and will help us win games, an SEC Championship, and a BCS Championship.
He can come in and help us and we will need every weapon, every bullet to that and JJ is one of many.

There was nothing JJ could have said that would have appeased those that are completely sold on hating him.
They will list things that would have appeased them, because he didn't say them. Had he said what they wanted their list would be modified to include other things he didn't say, but the vitriol would remain.

He meant he woulnd't want anybody to have to go through that. Clearly, JJ is not a very polished public speaker. And Doc and a bunch of other idiots are acting like he gave a prepared fricking speech. He answered questions--specific questions--off the cuff. That's not his strong-suit and I'm sure he didn't convey exactly what he was feeling. Imagine how nervous he was. I think he did fine overall. Now, time to move on.
