It is hilarious that the JJ-haters are the ones basically calling Lee a huge vag.
Lee is tough as nails, imo.
Yeah, they're talking out of both sides of their mouths. One side says that he's so strong and has overcome so much adversity, while the other side coddles him, saying we can't possibly let JJ back on the team as it would destroy Lee's fragile psyche. Which is it? Can't be both. Of course they just want Lee to start at any cost, logic be damned. They are a bunch of intellectually dishonest goalpost movers.
By the way, I want Lee to start myself(as of now). I'm talking about the one so emotionally invested in it that justifying it is their only aim.

The guy was the worst QB in the SEC last year, who knows if he got any better?
JJ had beaten Lee and Mett out to earn the starting job over the spring and summer. Miles/Krag/Stud felt he was our best option going into the Oregon game and there was NO controversy until the bar incident.
And his teammates seemed JACKED to get JJ back on the field, which tells me something.
Don't get me wrong, Lee has done a far better job than I thought we would do thus far.
All I know is that I wouldn't trade LSU's QB arsenal of Lee/JJ/Mett with any other SEC team's QB depth chart this season. THAT isn't a statement I would have made about LSU QB's in a long time.
So rather than hand wringing about how bad we have it, we should be fricking psyched to add another valuable weapon IMO.

apologize, and get on with your life.
he just can't do it.
Okay, you may have addressed this after this post, but exactly what should he apologize for? Most of the team was out with him that night. Suppose for a second that he didn't kick the guy in the head. Suppose he only defended himself. Do you know for an absolute fact, beyond a reasonable doubt, that's not the case?

this wasnt directed at me but it would be pretty damn retarded to "hate" on someone cleared of all charges. its not even an OJ situation where a jury found him not guilty, the grand jury wouldnt even bring charges and their burden of proof is FAR less.

He meant he woulnd't want anybody to have to go through that. Clearly, JJ is not a very polished public speaker. And Doc and a bunch of other idiots are acting like he gave a prepared fricking speech. He answered questions--specific questions--off the cuff.
No offense, but now you are just trying to change what he meant. He clearly played the martyr with that comment and it was honestly the only comment of his that I had a problem with. Tons of guys have gone through much worse than him, and the dude makes a comment like that.
That said, JJ didn't need to say anything. He didn't owe anyone answers. He's served his punishment and needs to focus on his school and preparing with the team.
Those asking for an apology are just ridiculous at this point.

You are missing the point, LSU's defense, as someone previous stated, is why LSU has been so dominant.
Not missing the point at all. We are winning in large part because of our defense. If you don't think we are also winning and so dominantly because of a combination of a great defense and an effective offense that isn't putting the defense in shitty positions, than I don't know what to tell you, but you're simply unable to grasp reality.

an apology would be very ill-advised as it could be construed as admission of guilt. i am sure JJs lawyer has told him exactly what to say when it comes to this type of matter.

Same can be said about any player on the team, though.
Do we win all 4 games without Luke Muncie?
Oh for the love of God. Now you have shown how much you really don't get it.
Comparing a back up linebacker to the starting QB as far as effect on the team.

Les isn't a polished speaker either. Neither is Hawthorne and he's the voice of LSU.
There are many Les-isms, Hawthorne-isms.
Most people aren't comfortable speaking in front of people they don't know.
I wish these people would get over themselves.

If I was his lawyer, I wouldn't allow him to discuss any specifics but I would advise him to act as indignant as a motherfricker that he has to go through this unwarranted shite. Lewis apparently did just that.

Johns was arrested and it was all over the media. Same as JJ. Both arrests, not just JJ's.
Cleared or not (JJ v. JJ), you don't think it had a negative impact on LSU when the story broke?
ETA: They've been hating on JJ since the day after the bar fight. No hate shown to Johns and he was arrested too.

so you think those who bashed both should now CONTINUE to bash both as a matter of fairness, instead of just being mad at JJ?
i sincerely hope you do not think that way.

Yeah, I'm not understanding why he should have to apologize to the fans. He doesn't owe me anything. I don't care if he got in some bar fight. If everyone who got in a bar fight had to apologize to me, I'd be hearing apologies all day, every day. If he wants to apologize to his teammates/coaches/family for whatever reason, he can do that in private.
Posted on 10/3/11 at 11:16 pm to jcole4lsu
I don't think anyone should be bashed. I'm just saying the hatred has only gone Jefferson's way, not to any of the others involved. Wasn't there another player that admitted that he punched someone or am I imagining that?

only reason this was a story is that JJ was arrested and is/was the starting QB of a national powerhouse football program.
had johns been the sole person arrested the national media would not have blinked an eye.

pretty much. add to it his lawyer has surely told him to STFU about it and there ya go.
would it be nice for him to say sorry after all legal matters are dispensed of? sure. do i expect it and does he need to? nope.

I have been very vocal in that I think JJ is innocent. No one has heard anything bad about him off the field for 4 years and one night he decides to kick someone in the head? I don't think so. That is not the impression JJ has left on me.
