I agree. Miles tried to protect him instead of simply holding him accountable and has done more damage in doing so.

For Lee, it's as if he was trying to protect him from going on the field and making a mistake (call it not trusting him if you want, but it doesn't make sense when you look at what JJs been doing in the first four games).

Then for JJ, Miles stands by him after increasingly poor performances saying publicly it's not that bad... he's treating him like a momma's boy instead of holding him accountable.

What happened against Tennessee really should've happened a couple games back. It should have been apparent to Miles that the pressure was starting to get to JJ and he was getting inside his own head and Lee should've been worked in more. Not only would Lee have had more game experience going in to Florida, but it would've helped JJ preserve some composure and dignity. As it is, JJ has a huge mental hole to crawl out of now. With every passing week a greater percentage of the fanbase has turned on him and he knows it. He may say that he doesn't pay attention to the criticism of fans, but it simply isn't true. You can see it in everything he does-- after his TD run on the first play, he looked more defiant than happy, like he was telling his detractors they were wrong. He's clearly aware of the criticsm. So, it wasn't too surprising that after he threw his 1st INT not too many plays later, that his confidence unraveled. He may be in some level of denial, but deep down he knows he's not playing well.

Because UNM plays two QBs, the other guy, and the presumable starter now, is ranked like 113th. This last place guy still qualifies, but I do not think he is starting anymore. That makes JJ the worst starter in the NCAA.

Im starting to believe he doesnt have the respect from the players.. Look at some of the WR's comments about Lee getting in the game.

The body language of the entire team shows this.
When Lee comes in things get done. I don't understand how anyone could not see it.

RK PLAYER TEAM ATT COMP PCT YDS YDS/A LONG TD INT SACK RAT

111 Jordan Jefferson, QB LSU 89 46 51.7 449 5.0 51 2 6 5 88.0

112 Tarean Austin, QB UNM 85 43 50.6 394 4.6 48 2 4 7 87.9

He edged out last place by 0.1

I've never seen him play or even heard of him, but I'm guessing that this Tarean Austin could make up that 0.1 if he had Jefferson's supporting cast.

I feel sorry for him. the lack of insight is concerning for him not only as a college football player, but as person. Maybe he sees the writing on the wall and is just in denial

These are some of the images of JJ that have stuck on my mind,it kind of reveals his thoughts
1.Celebrating after the nailbiter against UW last year - As if beating that UW team in a nailbiter was a huge accompolishment.
2.Celebrating after the UNC Nailbiter.
3.Claiming that there is nothing wrong with the season and that we are 4-0 when asked about our offensive woes.
5.Then this press con where he does not even acknowledge JL for coming in playing like a champ.

I am not judging his character, but definitely he is not a leader and i hope we reward Lee with majority of playing time.

shep needs runs and throws...

Actually, the other guy does qualify, and he's ranked 108 on that same list.

Strangely, I think if JJ would switch teams with either of the UNM guys, I think both QB's ratings would go up. The UNM guy because he would have more weapons around him, and JJ because the pressure would be off, and presumably the coaches could do a better job with him.

Wow...

He also said this, "Didn't y'all see me out there? I's is SUPERMAN!"

I wanted to see Lee play a lot in the Tenn. game because of this kind of attitude. I haven't liked the looks and body language of JJ when WRs have dropped JJ's passes or his "what more do you want?" kind of mentality. I know it's hard when microphones are constantly in your face after tough outings and things can come out wrong. But it just seems like he is in need of an attitude "tweaking" as Miles would probably say.

I mean, I love players being happy after scoring and fired up. But does he really need to be doing the Superman move after he scores when the QB play has been so poor? We've got some people in the program that seem to be a little out of touch with reality. It was a great run, but that kind of stuff is a little ridiculous. Saying he'd be surprised if he doesn't start just sounds stupid. He obviously contributed to eventually getting the W, but so did Lee. And Lee actually protected the ball better. Does JJ realize he had two turnovers?

JJ is a fricking idiot who could not read a defense if the coach was whispering it in his ear in the game. If some of u think he is such a good athlete why not put him at RB?

Well, he has totally regressed with his passing. He was okay for us last year.

He has some athletic ability, but his instincts are not good most of the time.

Though he did have the longest run for an LSU QB in the history of LSU football and put a nice move on the defender that missed him. His instincts were good on that play.

Is it really that important that JJ now holds the longest run by a QB? Unless you at at GT and run the triple option..your QBs primary objective should be to put the ball in someone elses hands.

JJ has had a few games in the past where he looked like a mid-tier SEC QB; however, this year he has fallen off the charts and should sit and watch JL. At least we know JL can move the ball, and that the WRs are much happier with him in the game.

Same thing he's been doing after every poor performance. Rather than being mature and owning up and promising to do better, he's defensive and not accepting responsibility. Will never improve if he continues down that road.

But hasn't that been the case this year? Its like Les has ensured him that no matter how badly you play, I'm not going to sit you. Its sort of a sense of entitlement that he has.

Jefferson reminds me of our current President. It's not my fault!!! Jefferson's problem is that he's very young & has bad coaching, Obama has no excuse for being sooooo pitiful!!!!!
