They don't mind pressuring the cotton because it's only the fair thing to do but won't pressure the outback to take us over USCe. I would think that would be the only fair thing to do seeing we beat them.
Why would we want anyone to pressure the Outback to take us?
LSU vs Northwestern in Tampa at 10am...
I think that is the only potential matchup that I might shoot myself if we get. Good god the Outback is awful...I'll take CFA over Outback by a mile.
Whoever gets that game, and it appears to be USCe, is the one getting screwed in this whole deal.

It's ok man you get to eat a chicken sandwich on new years eve, that's yalls prize for beating A&M.
Guess beating A&M doesn't count for much, and doesn't impress anyone.

Doesn't matter we won a conference championship and went to a BCS, much better year than this one. Don't talk A&M football if you have no clue about it.
Congrats on winning a Mickey Mouse Conference and losing a BCS bowl. That's not nearly as good as beating the team that won the BCS title and going 11-2 in a real conference.
ETA: Of course, both seasons ended with aTm being irrelevant.

I'll never know why Chicken keeps other teams' boards locked but allows opposing fans to come over here and flame.

not for nothing, but I think it might be Michigan now that NU lost B1G CG. I am with you though, playing Clemson is a better match up, its just the prestige

To me it's not even the bowl game, or the matchup, it's that the SEC head office can go out of its way to strongarm an independent committee into acting in a way that they don't feel is in their Bowl's best interest.
The cotton bowl has been on record saying they favor LSU..they obviously feel that's their best matchup and would be their best option, but Slive is going to tell them they can't do that because it's unfair?
Why didn't he come to bat for LSU in 2005 when they were #3 in the nation, lost the SEC title game, and fell all the way to the Peach bowl?
Or when other highly ranked teams got stuck playing in the Outback bowl, or some such garbage? This is shady.

Will Georgia travel well to Arlington? LSU to Atlanta?
I don't know about UGA, but our fans will not travel well to the Chicken Sandwich bowl.
LSU will have to eat the tickets that don't get sold, and I bet that there will be a lot of them.

It would hurt both bowls in terms of tickets. Makes no sense financially.

How about sending A&M to Atlanta where they actually belong? Why isn't that an option?
Because the Capitol One bowl picks first.

When does anything the SEC head office does make any sense?
They got Bama into the BCSCG. They could give a rat's arse about the rest of us.

SEC seems to frick over LSU a lot.

That's because we have a spineless weakling for an AD who is too chicken shite to stand up to Mike Slive.

But, since that won't happen they deserve the next best bowl bid over LSU....easily.
Great game, but they gave up an record amount of rushing yards and 500+ total yards in a loss at home basically for a chance to go to the NC.
It's a toss up.

It's not a toss up we dominated Bama! They had almost no first downs in the second half!
They made a brilliant come back that we gave them after trying a QB sneak on fourth for a yard and 1/2 .

Didn't WE end up in the Chickfila/Peach bowl after losing as the #3 ranked team and losing to UGA in 2005?
Posted on 12/2/12 at 3:19 am to Lacour
Slive hates LSU. Don't care what bowl we go to. I just want a relatively easy win.
