Dumbopot has started plenty threads wishing and begging and praying that Daniels leaves. He's the worst kind of fan.

I do not understand all the JD hate. He single handedly carried this offense for most of the season. Nussmeier did not look good against Southern, and was able to come in with no worries and sling the football against Georgia. Granted, he did look good in that second half. However, the JD has to go and good riddance to him has got to stop.

“Joe Burrow will not drastically improve his draft stock in the upcoming season.

The highest he’ll be picked is 6 behind Tua, Hurts, Love, Fromm, and Eason.”

No JD hate.

I find it weird that because I believe JD will not drastically increase his draft stock with another season under his belt equals JD hate.

If he could have about 90% of the production he did against Florida, Ole Miss, and Alabama through the entire season with zero duds, he'll absolutely shoot up on the draft boards.

Agree 100%.

The chances of that happening are about what percentage? 20%? 5%? Teams know how to defend JD now. Mush rush 3 with a spy 1, drop 7 and make him throw.

If taking their best game and saying he’ll do that every game next year was the standard wouldn’t we want Nuss’s performance vs UGA in that case?

Yes, if you apply the same logic.

However, I don't agree with that logic.

What I agree with is the trajectory of improvement. With JD was have a lot of data (if you include ASU) to develop a trendline. The trendline says he will decrease or remain steady next year in terms of total QB rating. I know total QB rating is not the end all be all so I do expect JD to improve just based on maturity and becoming more familiar with Denbrock's system but not drastically.

We have very little data on Nuss and the data we have on Nuss shows a nice improvement from his freshman year to his sophomore year. Nussmeier's total QB rating is 141 for this year were Daniels has been around 143 for his entire college career.

We have no data on Howard.

People want to compare all LSU QBs to the LSU standard bearer, Joe Burrow so here it is. In 2018 Joe had a total QB rating of 133 and in 2019 it was a ridiculous 202.

Daniels is not a pro style QB.

That’s a weak class besides two insane talents in Williams and Maye. He can easily be in the mix for the top 5, possibly even the second round of the draft.

Hypothetically:

Let’s say you’re right, and he will not drastically increase his draft stock with another season.

Now let’s say he releases a statement saying he is coming back next year because he wants to finish what the team started and win a championship.

In that scenario, he would be delaying his payday to compete for a title at LSU. Surely, then, you would think that decision is admirable?

If we had good RB talent and a good IOL, that wouldn't be a good strategy
