what was the bama score? we can do this all day.
He wasn't injured in the Bama game, to my recollection.
I was addressing the talking heads who indicate he made continuous improvement starting with the Alabama game.
As the earlier poster stated, I thought he looked better in the first half of the Georgia game. And I was impressed with his game.
If he continues, as has been indicated by folks who have seen him during the off season, then he may well make it to New York. I'll be elated if he does.
However, the Purdue game was no measuring stick for any QB.
We will know the truth in September.

If he won, so many people here would lose their minds and not in a positive way.

I don't remember. What was the LSU vs Georgia score when Daniels was injured?
How is that relevant to his personal performance?
Was he playing defense? Did he ignore a live ball on special teams and give Georgia a cheap TD.
And if you discount how well JD played because of the score (v UGA) or the opponent (Purdue), are you also discounting Nuss‘s performance in those games for the same reason?

Can’t win that award watching Nuss from the sideline.

Jayden Daniels isn’t heisman caliber

Did I mention Nuss? Is he being hyped for the Heisman?

Hope he takes that next step mentally, he’s got all the tools to be a lethal dual threat qb
This is his 5th year of college ball. If we are still hoping for that then IDK what to tell you.
Jayden will be fine. Run the offense that best suits his skill set and he should ball out.

Yeah, it is impossible for a guy to make a huge leap in their 5th year.
There was never a 5th year QB that had decent first year at LSU (in his 4th year of college) then absolutely exploded in his 5th year to win the SECw, the SECCG, Heisman Trophy and a national title.
Yep, no one has ever dramatically improved between their 4th and 5th year.
Sure as frick didn’t happen in 2019.

If he'd have been in this scheme his entire career, you'd have a point. But the fact is, this is his second year in this scheme, so we should expect to see him take a big step. Yes, even as a 5th year senior.
In fact, I'd say that since he's an upperclassman, he's probably going to show more advancement.

Joe Burrow or Joe Brady for example?
Only thing Jayden Daniels has in common with those guys is the letter in his name starts with J.

I’m not suggesting he puts up numbers like Burrow.
But I am suggesting that it is stupid to suggest that as a 5th year senior, now in year 2 of the system, he is incapable of making dramatic improvement.
Also he will have a better and more experienced O line this year as the 2 starting tackles are no longer freshmen

I get that.Joe Brady also was a lot of help to Burrow.
While I like our offense this year I don't see Jayden taking the next step.
All he needs to do is play like he played last year in the Florida and Alabama game where he was terrific.
My point is in 2018 Burrow has his struggles no doubt but as the year went on he got better and better.
We knew in 2019 he was gonna ball out. Obviously not to the extent he did but we knew he was about to be a really good QB.
Jayden I just don't get that vibe from.
He will play 3 great games then 1 or 2 lackluster games.
Arkansas and A&M for example at the end of the year.Maybe it was because he was injured.
Jayden doesn't have to be Burrow he just has to be Jayden Daniels from Alabama and Florida last year and we will be fine.

Jayden was awesome against uga while injured and then continued that in the bowl game and then continued in the spring game. That’s getting better going into his senior year

Burrow doesn’t win jack without those guys.

Burrow could make every throw in the book in most every situation. That is not Daniels.

Yeah I mean how dare him be off with the flu and hurt ankle……..some of you shouldn’t be allowed to be fans.

Hate to say it, but I don't think he plays enough games to be a contender. His style and build will keep him out of at least two game due to injuries.
I don’t think he’s missed a single start his entire 4 year career

He is not doing too badly with only Chase in Cincy.
Lets wait until Boutte, Nabers, Lacy, Thomas, and Taylor get to the Pros before we start shitting on Wrs, or using them as an excuse.
We had better receivers last season than Burrow had in "18".

Does not negate the fact he had 2 potential NFL hall of fame receivers to throw to. And his 3rd and 4th options were excellent as well.
