I feel the same. Brennan right now looks fat. We went from too skinny to the opposite. Daniel’s footwork seems leaps above Myles and he also seems to be more on point with the passes. In that series he was on the money with each of those passes and those aren’t all our top receivers running around. I feel like the least Brennan could have done is get in the best shape of his life. Just doesn’t look to be so. I want who gives us the best shot to win and it’s going to be hard for me to see Daniel’s not winning the job

Clearly you didn't watch any of there games. They were a running team last year. Ball control offense. Which is why he had 750 yards rushing. I challenge you to go back and take a look at last year's film. Even 3 or 4 of his ints bounced right off the hands of receivers.

Get that boy on a red beans & rice diet. He needs about 20lbs. Looks like Brennan when he arrived to LSU

Those are RPOs he’s operating. He chooses to pass one time and is basically sacked.
Are you talking about when he ran for 12 yards?

If we can block, either guy could have success IMO.
If you can't block then no QB will be effective, running or otherwise.

185 and trying to run against SEC defenses. How long before they break him? 1 game?

Yup, I think it was Julie at TigerDetails that shot and uploaded it. Props to her for not cutting and editing it because you get a real sense of the tempo and organization of subs/formations.

You can even hear someone yell “get away from the signaler” as they are calling plays from the sideline.

You can’t really look at the qb running as anything in these drills. They’re not allowed to even hit the qb. The only thing you can really judge is decision making and throwing. And right now Daniels has looked better.

But it’s early.

Who was his QB last year?
a redshirt 5th year senior transfer whose only competition at Notre Dame were 2 true freshman. But don't let that fool you. His backup QB, one of the freshman, did throw 35 times for 300 yards 3 TDs, but he also rushed 46 times for 336 yards (7.3 ypc) and 3 TDs. He was the 2nd leading rusher on the team. Kelly wants a rushing threat at QB. If you listen to him talk about Jayden, you can tell that's what he wants.

His previous QB to Coan, Ian Book, ran 360 times in 3 and a half years for 1520 yards (4.2 ypc) and 17 TDs.

Mike Denbrock's QB at Cincy, Desmond Ridder, ran 501 times in 4 years for 2180 yards (4.4 ypc) and 28 TDs.

Jayden Daniels ran 296 times in 2.3 years for 1290 yards (4.4 ypc) and 13 TDs.

I posted the yards per carry of all these QBs to note, they like true dual threats too. Those are RB ypc averages.

Another note, when Denbrock was the OC at Notre Dame in 2014 his QB Golson threw for 3450 yards 29 TDs and rushed for 280 yards and 8 TDs.

Both Kelly and Denbrock want Daniels to take the job. You may not want to believe that, but I'm willing to bet that's what they want.

6'3". 185 pounds. You laughed at Miles when he first came in light and this guy gets a pass
Daniels has ran almost 300 times in 2.3 years and has been injury free. Myles torn something in his abdomen after running a few times in 3 games, VS MIZZU! Then he injured himself on a boat dock.

How can you guys talk about his size when he is a heavy runner that doesn't get hurt?

These dudes only pay attention to LSU. I want them to look up Hendon Hooker's last season at Virginia Tech, and then his first season at Tennessee the very next year.

Very accurate and he can run well.
So was Brandon Harris in practice!

Some of you guys never learn.

Can he be "very accurate and run well" when the lights come on and he's got SEC "Big Boy" DL's and LB's pressuring his arse?

What about Reading Defenses, Going through Progressions, Managing the Offense and Delivering a Catchable Pass against SEC Defenses?

There's NO WAY to know by watching a few clips of practice videos.

He may be able to do all that and he may fall apart under "Pressure" as we've seen other LSU QB's do.

I just wanted to know if that is the play you think Brennan was "basically sacked", because it didn't look that way to me at all. The oline did a good job as the defense tried to overload the weak side. When he took off he had an open lane for 12 yards, no one near him.

Overall the oline seemed to be doing a great job as the running backs were getting 10+ a carry.

Overall I didn't see much to separate them. In the couple of minutes Brennan didn't throw and Daniel's made 2 10 yard completions and 2 less than 5 yard outs.

I will never understand the Brennan fanboys and their love affair for a kid who isnt very good and who has shown zero discipline for the position. If he truly wanted to be QB1 he would do everything in his power to get it. Instead he is fat as a pig and we hear how he spends all his time hunting and fishing.

The day he is no longer an LSU player cannot happen soon enough for me. Am sick and tired of the fanboys ruining every thread with their delusional mindset that he will be the starter.
