ESPN’s college basketball coverage is retarded.

quote:These refs as usual missed a number of calls late in that game that only lends credence to the belief that Kentucky can get what they want or away with whatever they want to in games, especially at home. Naz Reid was blatantly interfered with on a over the back missed call by PJ Washington when he was trying to rebound a ball that could have put the game away. Reid threw his hands up and all looking for the call, but instead was ignored by the refs who was letting Kentucky do whatever they wanted to at the end to try and steal that game at the end.
Why do all these hosts talk about the offensive goaltending and completely igonore the Kentucky player that had his entire arm up and through the rim?
that's what these show hosts should be talking about, but strangely and too funny to me that they don't.

Are we going to review the entire game and correct every blown call or just the very last 1. Seems if you want to undo one bad call you have to fix the entire game.

The goal pretty obviously shook from them hitting the rim.
Also, no one is questioning his knowledge. We are calling him out for being overly emotional about it.

No the frick you can't. No while the basketball is on the rim or backboard.

I did not see the goal shake or the ball touched, so Jay Williams, believe it or not, knows basketball better than you, and he knows that Kentucky got robbed b/c the goaltending should've been called on LSU. Still, LSU may have won in OT, though.
Even if I give this all to you, you can’t deny that there shouldn’t have been a foul on marlon with 8.6 seconds left, which would have resulted in LSU ball, most likely getting sent to the line already up 2 with 6-7 seconds left

the frick? his arm was thru the rim while the ball was in the air? And he bumped the rim and goal
Be honest, you'd go BALLISTIC.

That dude is pathetic. I havent seen anyone cry more about our win against Kentucky than him.

Shook the backboard and rim while the shot was up. 2 points, play over, tip in doesn't matter. In fact, Skyler's shot probably drops if they hadn't interfered.

WRONG! goal was shaking. Google it!! You Tube it! Get glasses. open your eyes! And ball was coming off rim when he tipped it. It's a legitimate win!

Why does everyone get so mad about Jay Williams? He’s terrible at what he does.
Posted on 2/17/19 at 11:47 am to TigerLunatik
Does he realize that had the tip been wiped out there was still an overtime to play? And we been pretty darn good in ot this year.

Who cares what Jay Williams says...
I think people look for every perceived slight towards LSU

And you're dead wrong, the backboard wasn't shaking and Mays' shot wasn't going in regardless.
You've got to try to be intellectually honest - don't let the purple and gold goggles blind you.

No rational adult should feel that way.

My favorites are when people post trash talk by opposing fan bases, all while ignoring the trash they spoken or the 10 threads talking trash about the opposing team. But damn someone said something mean about LSU
Posted on 2/17/19 at 12:12 pm to tduecen
It's not so much that I care what he thinks and it certainly didn't make me mad. It's just an incredibly dumb thing to assume that Kentucky would have won the game if basket interference had been called. It's not a perceived slight to LSU, it was a slight to LSU. I found it interesting that he would take it that far and decided to share.

They also fail to discuss the actual standard for offensive goaltending. The player has to touch the ball within the cylinder, WHEN THE BALL HAD A CHANCE OF GOING IN. The ball was clearly coming off the rim and did not have a chance of going in.
Not only had it already come off the rim, but also most of the ball was already out of the cylinder. Less than a quarter of the ball was still considered in, and it always on its way out.
