He needs to fire the defensive positioning coach.

Wait someone is PAID to do that? Was he the dude who put Pearson at the warning track when UNC was trying to get on base at the end of the game and the hit dropped 50 feet in front of him? They definitely need a bunting coach as well

But all pissiness aside I agree with OP this was a crazy and exciting season and LSU was quite literally 1-2 plays away from hosting a Super Regional--which after losing all those early SEC series in a row and then dropping the hearbreaker Bama series was quite a focused and unlikely comeback story

Will be sad to lose Bear Jones (I assume) but JJ has some serious young talent + a great recruiting class + will find some portal experience to bolster the group

1000%. We have the potential to have the deepest pitching staff we’ve ever had next year. This team is a monster.

Have you seen the roster for next season? Jays got a lot of work ahead of him.

Welcome to college athletics in 2024. Every team has the same issues.

Good core of position players returning: Milam, Neal, Larson, brown, Pearson has a year left I think. Hopefully Kling and Frey improve significantly

I don’t think we want Brady Neal as the starting catcher next season.

I get being disappointed, it was tough way to lose but i am super excited to see what we bring in. The recruiting class and draft are always a sweat fest but i cant wait to see what Jay targets in the portal and if we can grab some big names.

You need both. You see the improvement from Jared Jones? That can be Kling or Neal or Frey next year.

Jones was a freshman all American last year. Kling and Neal have regressed from last season and Frey isn’t as good as any of them.

That’s great. Let’s see if he can win without the best pitcher in baseball the last 20 years.

Calm down Baw! CJJ has to fill a bunch of spots for next year's squad. Pitching is a must. That's how you win in the post season. You need 2 aces 1a and 1b. Also the bullpen needs someone to give you a couple innings before the closer comes in.

2024 LSU baseball = 2010 Alabama football Definitely a bit of championship hangover for some returning players, some bad luck, and some flat out bad play at times. Despite that, we were a couple pitches from hosting a super. And I believe Jay is the best college baseball coach in america that’s about to go on an ungodly rampage in recruiting and the portal. I have zero doubt this program is in the best hands possible. On to 2025.

We literally just pulled 2 aces in the portal last summer while on a natty run

Jay now has time to cook. Things finna get interesting. Jay is probably on the phone right now to our next Holman/Jump

This is the first year I can remember we didn’t have a TJ casualty during the season.

I don’t disagree but unless we grab a couple elite arms out the portal and pray Herring stays,, our pitching staff is weak for SEC play

And he wasn’t playable down the stretch. He improved immensely.

I don’t know if any of this is true. If anything, Kling and Neal are about the same. But my bigger point is that I don’t want to cleanse the roster of talented players because they haven’t lived up to the hype yet. Maybe Paxton Kling just becomes a defensive and running replacement, and that’s ok. We need program guys too.
