No one asked that. They fielded 5-6 questions. Mostly about approach & recruiting. Someone asked his favorite baseball movie (for the love of the game).

Basically

-Doesn’t want to bunt unless it’s a close game late

-Wants to hit for power. HR & doubles. Murder pitches in strike zone. Take balls.

-not against defense shifts. Will have in depth scouting reports on all opponents. Ball is easier to catch hit right at joy

I guess I was also being sarcastic because I knew br media would never ask touch questions.

They've always been super soft to LSU coaches and admin.

They are a joke at their profession

Not from him. Only said how important it was and how he would take his time to make the right hires. Also said they needed to have experience in the region

JJ is intense, focused and has a plan - Bertman would have been questioned about being from Miami but effectve & system apply anywhere. His San Diego State experience took him to another level being allowed to focus and build and left to do by the HC.

He basically said he has cast a large net and won't rush to hire. He wants to make sure he gets it right. It also leads me to believe that he may have some interest in guys still playing (Scott Brown, Mike Baxter, David Macias, Scott Foxhall, Kyle Cheesebrough, Jake Geautreau) or just getting home (Clint Chrysler, Chris Hart, Joey Holcomb, Sean Allen, Phil Miller, Troy Tulowitzki).

This dude is nervous as shite and not making a lot of sense.

What press conference were you watching? He sold his vision in pretty excellent fashion from what I saw. He did a lot of talking and only had a few minor stumbles.

Honestly, I would like to hear him answer a question about those 2 years he didn’t make the postseason to see what he learned or is taking from it

I was curious about those two years, but I guess whatever he learned helped him win the Pac-12 and advance to the CWS again this year. And him bringing Arizona to the CWS and finishing runner-up in his 1st year there after Arizona had missed the post-season 3 years in a row before he got there was extremely impressive.

He had to build a depleted team from the ground up. It's not like there's some big secret that he learned after two average seasons. He simply had to recruit and develop players after he lost all of his upperclassmen. That first season was built on juco players.

That question wasn't asked because missing the post season at Arizona isn't very surprising. Plus, most rational and knowledgeable sports fans have already done their homework and understand his situation there. Thirdly, that isn't the time and place for asshoke questions. That's a question Woodward likely brought up in the interviews.

It’s more likely that the fans don’t know he missed it twice than them understanding what happened. The rant isn’t the majority of thefan base. Most don’t know shite

GG says it's down to three candidates, JJ being one of them.

tRant says he's an idiot and doesn't know shite.

JJ ends up being hired.

tRant says he's an idiot because he said it was going to be Bianco.

Said he wants guys with experience at this level or the level where the players want to be. Wants to see improvement from players year to year, which means he wants coaches who can make that happen.

Said you'd be surprised at the names of some coaches who want to come to LSU. Suggested he has been fielding lots of calls from coaches who want to be in BR.

Rich Hill his mentor at San Diego resigned and took head coach job at Hawaii

The best run for San Diego was when Jay Johnson was on staff
they had two ncaa tourney appearances before Johnson was hired in 02 and 03 then with Johnson:
06 33-25 NCAA Tourney
07 43-18 Ncaa Tourney
08 44-17 NCAA tourney
09 29-25
10 37-22 NCAA tourney
11 22-31
12 40-17 NCAA tourney
13 37-25 NCAA tourney
After Johnson left, San Diego never returned to NCAA tourney

Livin' the dream right there.

Coaching a baseball program that is the definition of average but no on cares about it so no pressure and you get to live in Hawaii and your profession lets you be outside all the time in that weather.
