Choc,

Sorry if you've already said, but what are your thoughts on Jimbo as potential coach here?

I'd rather Herman...but I think Jimbo and maybe even Briles would be a good fit here. Anyone but Kiffin.

Lee was terrified of being hit. He was scared of a rush even if it wasn't there. That's why he threw off his back foot and was seldom sacked. He was going to Fling it up no matter what. He had lots of good fortune...until he played Bama. But the guy was petrified of getting hit.

Robb, I understand what you are saying, to bad Lee is the only QB that you can apply this to.

So I have to award the point to the Miles fans.

You get the 100 point bonus though. It is sad that the Miles fans trash Lee like they do and don't realize he is the best that Miles has developed. The 3 remaining good QB's they can talk about were coached by Fisher and whoever coached Mettenberger in Junior college.

How the hell does a JC coach develope a QB more than two dudes getting paid 5.6 million a year?

Wait...so the OC gets credit for Flynn but Miles gets blamed for the others? What about Perrilloux...the SECCG MVP?

Hello no, I'm not giving the OC credit, I'm giving the QB coach credit. Point me to Les and Cam's QB coach and I'll give them credit for the shite job they have done too.

Perrilloux? Really? That fine example of a human went right off the rails as soon he started getting developed. Do you think it was the pressure or the attention that did him in. Funny- he hasn't been the only thug QB under Les.

Makes you wonder why Saban wouldn't even give him the time of day.

Ronnie Rantz was bragging on him after the Wisconsin game.

Said that no matter what, even early on, as a Freshman Lee would always address reporters and give interviews. Was very professional.. said only guy who was made available after this past game was Lewis Neal I believe.

Lee was awful.

He was so awful that JJ was clearly the better option, and JJ was terrible

I'm amused that after all this time, there are people that haven't figured out that it's a near statistical impossibility that every single highly rated QB Miles recruited was "awful".

It's amazing really

I apply it to Lee, JJ, AJ, BH and Rettig.

There's no fricking way that Miles recruited five straight 4 star busts.

Every last one of them deserves the benefit if the doubt in hindsight

He wasn't the man but he was better than he was treated.

Matt mauck was the man. Wasting a season of eligibility to come in clutch to win the SEC championship after Rohan got hurt. That's the kind of backup you need. Someone who shines in pressure.

Ol Jarrett "Pick six" Lee is what they call 'em.

Honestly, I don't really know how "good" JL was, or could have been for that matter. But I do know this….there was a progression with his skill and mechanics. You could tell that there was a big difference between freshman JL and senior JL. He got better with time and game play. Total opposite of what we're seeing now.

2011, Jarrett Lee had 14 tds and only 3 interceptions. Was 9-0 as a starter and led LSU to a number one ranking his senior year and had the best passing efficiency than any starting QB in the SEC.

I'll take that right now.

Funny thing is in 2011 Lee was replaced by Jordan Jefferson who started the entire 2010 season. Jefferson was an interception machine. His 2010 stats **7 tds** and 10 int. It should be noted that 3 of JJ's touchdowns was when Lee replaced him and drove the Tigers team on 60+ yard drives only to be pulled when LSU had first and goal. JJ got 3 easy touchdowns thanks to Lee so in reality JJ was 4 touchdowns and 10 interceptions his junior year.

In 2011 Les pulled an undefeated starter Lee who had 14 td 3 int to replace with Jefferson who had 4 td and 10 interceptions the year before. This change cost LSU a national championship and led to the most embarrassing moment in school history, 21-0.

I can not wait for Les to be fired.

We're all the successful QB's during miles time here and they are white. What are you saying he only played because he is white. There have been good and bad QB of different races since miles has been here.

Russell
Flynn
Perriloux (got booted)
Hatch
JL
JJ
Mettenberger
AJ
BH

Wait I see the problem MATT mauck---MATT Flynn we need a QB whose first name is MATT

So is BH he got the deer in the headlights look and panicked on that last throw. He should have tucked it and ran but he is scaried of being injured/hit.

22 people downvoted this thread, yet it's 100% true.

JLee was best pure qb we've had since Mett and Flynn.
Kid could make all the throws on the field.

Troy game was posted on here not too long ago, I watched it and more more specifically Lees performance.
If you bothered to rewatch, ask yourself when last time you saw a LSU qb throw the ball the way lee did in that game.
Not only completions but the attempts and different routes... If we did that today no one would be griping about offense.

Les miles doesn't trust Harris to make those plays and throws.

oh I agree with your point.

So many OC's and QB gurus. . .

But if you assume Lee was better on the basis of bad coaching, you have to assume the same of Jefferson.

It was Crowton. . .no, Krag. . .no Stud. . .no Cam

It's Les.
