No, it really wasn't. Sorry.

Yeah, I should have it one way or the other. Either order it or just bypass ESPN stupid blackout restrictions..

The one thing that jumps out of that Vid is that unless he improves, Beckham is NOT a very good WR. On the long hold call, there was NO excuse for him to have to fall down other than he misjudged the ball.

Isn't he a true freshman?

Yes. Hence my caveat about if he improves.

Perhaps a better way for me to have put it was that he is not a very good WR right now.

well how about we don't use our 5-11 true freshman WR in roles that call for a 6-2+ WR, like that jump ball

I think my post is being taken as more harsh than intended which is my fault.

He just played poorly last night. Like any football player, he obviously may develop past that.

On a side note. I was really surprised we didn't really even try to take more advantage of the severe size disparity between RR and the guy covering him.

I noticed that as well. I kept telling my dad, wow Randle is a monster next to that corner covering him! The size difference really stood out.

And if I'm not mistaken, on top of the size differential, I think they said the kid covering RR was a freaking freshman.

That just seemed like something that needed to be tested more. Hell, near the end zone, that dude was helpless. One TD caught and one flagrant pass interference.

For funzies: Has anyone tallied up the potential yards Lee could have had if the catchable balls that went through hands were actually caught? Or the pass yards that were nullified because of penalties?

I keep reading around 200 yards, but someone with time could nail it down exactly.

I think they rolled coverage toward RR to help the CB out. couldn't really do that in the RZ though.

Wow man. On the deep post the ball was thrown before his cut. Lee also overthrew that pass and the WR made a play on the ball which made the route look like it was too deep. Don;t you have a DVR to look at the play before making dumb comments.

Yes I started at CB and Wing Back in high school, but it doesn't take that knowledge to rewind a play with DVR to see what happened.

On the touchdown pass to Randle, I think Lee wanted to make that more of a jump ball pass than it was. He didn't rifle it for a position pass, and he didn't get enough underneath for a jump ball pass.

I kinda thought he doing the whole "back shoulder" thing on that pass which is a good choice when your guys is a bunch bigger than the guy defending him. He basically ends up using his body as shield to the defender.

Landry got planted

He didn't drop the ball. Remember that. And he won't be afraid to go across the middle next time. Just wait....

JL could easily had a B+ performance with some help from his receivers.

He was fully extended and running. When I played WR when I was a little younger, that was the one thing that would cause me to fall down from time to time (other than getting lit up like the 4th of July). Your momentum just kind of takes you down once you extend your arms to make that kind of catch. It was a pretty good throw. He just put a little more on it than he needed to considering how open Beckham was. So it was a pretty good throw and a pretty good catch.

As far as people mentioning the drops...it wasn't as bad as last year. That's just part of football. They don't have what-if stats. Toliver, Shep, etc. dropped wide open passes last year. Last night, it was more like catchable balls with really good coverage. The Clement pass was great, but he's a TE and the defender made a really good play to jar it loose. Blue dropped the only one that I remember being completely open. If you want more catchable passes caught, throw it more to RR (or even Peterson).

I thought JL did excellent with getting the plays off in time, etc. He usually struggles with that. He had no INTS. and had some passes that were really nice even though the coverage was tight and they didn't count as completions. As far as the back foot thing...I don't know if that's gonna change. We just have to deal with it. We do need to aim it at RR more, but overall Lee played pretty good I thought. The stats might be the same as last year, but it didn't look like mass confusion out there - big difference.
