Great eloquent post. However...

Same people hating on Les today were on his nuts all season and when the Tigers reel off 6 or 8 or 12 straight next year they will be back on his nuts. Was the right decision made? Who knows, but you can't have it both ways. Either you hate him or you don't hate him. Having it both ways equals being a fair weather fan in my opinion. You win as a team and you lose as a team. As a TEAM.

Hate away.

Thanks. I just sent it to Guilbeau. I'll let you know if he responds. Good to know there are like-minded fans out there!

It's also possible to like the guy and think he made a stupid decision

If your kid does something stupid do you hate your kids? Of course not. Get out of here with this stupid arse it has to be black or white shite.

Said the same thing last night.

Not putting Lee in the game may have been the best thing Miles has ever done for him. Now Lee will be forever loved by many fans, for his mature behavior, his class to stand by and support his team, and the way he was unfairly treated by his coaching staff (at least from an outside observers standpoint). He becomes an LSU folklore hero without playing a meaningful down since being benched 2/3rds into the season.

Excellent!

What about the not-so-obvious? How about the children, playing their sport to the best of their ability, making a few mistakes, and asking their dads why the guy in the bar-fight was forgiven, but the guy with all the class, maturity, and sportsmanship in the world was benched. On Senior Day. For the SEC Championship. For the National Championship. Forever.

Jarrett Lee deserved an opportunity I totally agree. Les Miles will be the one that will be haunted by the ghost of Jarrett Lee the rest of his life as well. It also cost him a $1MM raise if he could have moved the football offensively ..... CLM dropped the ball on this one - BIG time! It was unberable to watch....
Hopefully Miles will learn from this as well. I had to put my kid to bed crying last night it was so pathetic offensively.... we needed JL - BIG time! Could have been the perfect ending after a beautiful beginning.....

Again, Les Miles picked the wrong victim. You see, Les Miles’ victim was, in fact, guilty. Not necessarily guilty of the felony, but guilty of being at that bar. Guilty of being involved in that fight in some way.

You do know that Jarrett Lee was out with another group that night too dont you?

I have posted ever since the game that JJ played terrible and Lee should have gotten in at the latest to start the 3rd. Sorry stating facts gets in the way of yall writing hero worship to Lee. The thing about the children? I mean honestly how is that not over dramatic.

What stands out to me about this thread is that I am seeing so many names in agreement with it that are not among the 35 or so guys who dominate almost every single thread on the Rant.

Awesome post Purple-n-Geauxld.

Very,very well written.

Coach Miles elevated this one player,(JJ)above all the others on the team and put his needs and wants ahead of the rest of the team and looking back on it, he did this for the past three years and it culminated in the disaster of a game Monday night.

Of course it's not all JJ's fault, the offensive game plan, and the play calling and the 37 days of preparation was pathetic.

We got outcoached, outplayed, and outhustled. If we did not have the 2nd best defense in the country, the score would have been 42 - 0.
