Those are all good points. I know he has always tried to get kids to come back and yes he got some key guys like you mentioned to come back last year. He does deserve a lot of credit like you said but if he can't parlay a national championship into getting a better retention rate of key guys returning aka Ingram and Gaye then we won't be in contention on a consistent basis. Imagine Bama with Harris and Devonta Smith. He only should get credit with the hires of Brady and McMahon bc they rest were abject failures and he knows it. I am not trying to pile on O but rather staying the facts. I am pulling for him to succeed

Most of these kids only go to college because it’s the only option they have to have a chance to make the pros. If there were a “minors” like baseball or hockey guys like Chase would never go to college anyway so just enjoy what years they do play

Les Miles did it twice and Gus 3 times

Les beat Saban 3 times. LSU is 4-11 vs Saban. Coach O has 1 win on his resume vs. Saban. Currently among SEC HC's you know how many have wins vs. Saban, One, that would be Ed O. that is it.

Of the 13 HC's in the SEC who will coach next year, only Ed O has a win vs. Saban. Those are the facts. But Les despite all his faults with modernizing the Offense, did win 3 times, but that was when football in the SEC where 11 personnel was the more wide open offense and lots of running and play action. Today 11 personnel is the base offense for all SEC teams and now more 4 and 5 WR.

O deserves so much more support than he gets.

As my dad always said, one "oh shite" fricks up about 12 "atta boys", and he had quite a bit more than one "oh shite" moments this year. Those coaching hires were horrible, and we knew that when he made them. Letting what were for all intents and purposes sex pics of you hit the internet when your program is facing Title IX allegations, including accusations of players taking pictures/videos of them having sex, is just plain stupid. Coach O has to learn how to handle success. We won't even go into player retention this year.

That said, I agree with you. As I've said before, there are things that O brings to the table that would be tough to replace. It's hard to look at this COVID year and think that he has established a good culture, but the fact is we were there with the type of culture and swag that people gravitate to this calendar year.

The best thing for LSU is to get the NCAA/Title IX mess behind us, make solid assistant coaching hires, and get back on track WITH Ed Orgeron. With the talent that he has brought in, we could legitimately be competing for another championship in 2021. To the OP, yes, re-recruting your current players and getting them back is huge.

As for coach, he has shown that he does tend to learn from his mistakes, unlike some of our previous coaches. IF he can learn from this year and move forward, he and the Tigers can be very successful together for a long time.

Playing for a chance at a national title is the only thing that drives these kids. You don’t see top players “opting out” at ANY of the playoff teams. Convince them we can do it Coach! We have a QB, super star receivers and super star DB’s. Build around the skilled players that can change the outcome of any game. That’s all I got.

None of the guys on the Team at the end of the year should be leaving. None will get drafted higher than 4th or 5th round. Stevens may impress as a Hybrid LB and Cox maybe. I believe both go in 4th or 5th round. That is it . Chase and marshall will go in first 2 rounds. Shelvin maybe third. All Olineman need to comeback to improve draft stock.

According to 24/7, which I believe to be a reliable source, he committed to Miles on 7/9/2016. If my memory serves me correct, Les Miles was the HC. It was a big deal here in Houston because he was originally from NOLA and Miles pulled that off again.

The one thing about Delpit, he never wavered. While Orgeron was lucky enough to be HC, Delpit committed to LSU (NOT ORGERON a-hole) while LES MILES WAS HC. Now STFU.

Greedy Williams should have stayed last year. Imagine how nasty our D would have been with him, Fulton, and stingley in the backfield with Delpit and stevens

If I wanted anyone to stay it was Devin White.

You know who else committed to Les Miles?

Dylan Moses you stupid frick.

Commitments don’t mean shite. When it was nut-cutting time and pen had to be put to paper Grant Delpit SIGNED to play for Ed Orgeron.

Sorry that, that hurts your fragile little feelings

Devin wanted to stay too. Ed actually told him to leave which was the right decision for the young man and his family.

Devin finished strong like the tiger great that he is but he was thinking with his heart not his head. He’s lucky to have had a coach like O that cared enough about him to talk some sense into him.

who did he commit to?
Admit you don’t know shite about people snowflake. Live a little why don’t you. Delpit NEVER QUIT ON LSU. HE COMMITTED TO LSU WHEN MILES WAS THE COACH. You know what else? Devin White COMMITTED TO LSU. These players commit to the school and not the coach.

You on the other hand have n issue with security so I bet you’ll jump ship as soon as O is fired. I mean, aren’t you a felon for pretending to be a boat captain? You should know all about jumping ship.

Lol this fricking guy. I bet you think strippers like you too, clown. You honestly think it didn’t matter who the coach was?

Lol that’s it. If I say anything positive about our national championship winning coach I have to be Ponamsky. Your mom should have swallowed you.

Back to the OP
Of the remaining draft eligible guys on the team who haven’t declared yet, don’t think anyone of them will draw higher than a 4th round grade except for Cox who likely will be a late 2 to early 3. They all should return!
That includes Ingram, Rosenthal, Anthony, Gaye, Deculus, Logan and Farrell.

Thank you. Buddy it was so tough to watch everyone give up on him and public narrative was so strong it was pointless to even stand up for coach O. You'd be lambasted. Instead I sat by, watched, and waited. I expect a great year next year and a trophy the following.

I said the following: DELPIT WAS RECRUITED BY MILES. That is a fact when Miles was HC. You went off like a little bitch because you said this a-hole.

Here’s how this shite went:
quote:
He’s recruited and coaches a Thorpe, blienikoff and heisman winner.

Miles recruited Delpit FWIW.

YOU THEN WENT OFF YOU LITTLE INSECURE a-hole. What I said was innocent enough because it was true.
