Maybe it's that national championship ring.

So MF secretly dressed up as LeSean McCoy and singlehandedly beat WVU? Both JR and MF lead their team to the same number of losses. MF doesn't deserve any credit because there wasn't another legit undefeated or one loss team his season.

His feet, his ability to move the team, his better leadership - and oh yeah - a national championship with the same team JR lead the year before.

Already addressed. MF deserves no credit for Pitt beating WVU

Despite the fact that JR was by far the better passer we're just gonna ignore that?

JR was a remarkable leader go watch the Tenn and Ark games.

Hey, the man is from Alabama. Allow him to have pride in his home state. I live in Texas, but will always love my LA roots. It is not a Red Tide, chain. He chose LSU over UA.

1. I can't believe people are mentioning JR as one of the smartest quarterbacks in the league.

2. He has a boatload of talent, but talent isn't everything.

3. You know, he might turn out alright. I just don't think so. He's lacking in too many facets of the game right now.

"a bust as some here, including myself, predicted"

saying someone is a bust after 6 starts at the most difficult position in the league is retarded

everyone mentions peyton's first season, look at eli- 48% completion, rating of 55.4, more INT than TD on a much better team

JaMarcus Russell
a bust in the NFL?

For God sake, he is (basically)a rookie QB whose coach was just canned, has a crap OL, and WRs who dont get open and drop a lot of balls. He's only thrown 2 INTs, so give him a chance.

Is McFadden a bust for only getting 30 or so yards on a Saints defense that usually gets gashed?

I'm with you. People are so impatient these days. This is basically his rookie year. If you want to cast off a qb after his 6th start then you would've never heard of a quarterback named "DREW BREES." Why? Cause he stunk up the joint his first 4 years in the league, that's why San Diego drafted Eli Manning (then traded for Rivers) to take his spot and he would've eventually got cut! The only thing he needed was a good TE and look what happened? JR has nothing around him and out of everybody in that draft he had the most upside so it was a no brainer to draft him.

Wait til the Raiders draft Crabtree, that will open things up a lot.

I believe its still against the rules to throw the ball after you've been sacked

Watched them both pal - was in Knoxville as a matter of fact - the Tennessee band played as often for JR as the Tiger band. We got very lucky in that game to win it - period. Anyone there, will tell you the same thing. You might also recall Ainge went down in that game, and Jonathan Cropton (sp) took over and as anyone now knows, he didn't turn out that great.

You can talk all day long about "his receivers" - the guy was 13 of 35 - nothing more need be said.

So you're good enough to know a guy will turn out to be a bust after 6 starts?

Wow, you're quite the NFL guru and yet still posting here.

Did you also know that Elway and Aikman and Steve Young were busts also after they got off to WORSE starts then Russell?

Matt Flynn was a better QB period pal - and clearly - you don't have a clue. You are just one of those who think its great that he can throw 60 yards from his knees - big deal - and a NFL skill seldom needed.

Russell wasn't aided by a running game that Flynn had, played a MUCH tougher schedule, with tough games on the road, and yet stil completed a substantially higher % of passes, more TDs, less INTs, and was sacked less.

Who doesn't have a clue?

The notion to label ANY player a bust after 6 starts is absurd and stupid.
