Dude's still only 24. I'm hoping he can sign with a team that actually develops him. The Raiders was the worst situation a QB could find himself in. A decent o-line can do wonders for a quarterback.

The Vikings might actually be a good fit for him, especially if Favre comes back this year.

Ok let me more specific. If the object of the game was to throw the ball further than the other guy, his ability would be a huge talent. Unfortunately, this is not the object of football. He also lacks the ability to learn, process information rapidly, or lead among other innate qualities required of an NFL quarterback.

I hope this is sarcasm.

Russell was replaced as starter in 2009 by journeyman Bruce Gradkowski after throwing for just three touchdowns in 12 appearances, with 11 interceptions and a lowly 48.8 completion percentage.

This sucks for JR but he wasn't working hard enough. He is still one of my favorite players to play at LSU. It's a shame all that talent is being wasted.

Lets bring him back to LSU to be a baseball pitcher! I would think he could throw 95+

I was thinking the exact same thing. Oakland is just a dumpster fire of a team. Just see how successful their next QB is, I'm willing to bet he'll be lucky to be mediocre.
The Vikings would be a pretty good fit. A team with great structure, strong O-line and probably the best running back in the NFL would be a great place for JR to sit for at least a year and work on his work ethic and route reading.

JR proved he can learn and process information while at LSU on the field

there has been no objective evidence that he couldn't lead
