I never took kelly as a defensive coach while at notre dame

Recall that Kelly was a linebacker. He coached linebackers and DC'd at Div II Assumption, went on to DBs at Grand Valley State and worked his way up to head coach there.

He has been a head coach ever since. Certainly since Central Michigan (Cincy, ND and now LSU) he has increasingly become more involved on the offensive side of the ball. Brian Kelly is rare in modern times a true "head coach" who manages all areas of the program in meticulous detail, but is not normally at the mercy of a coordinator on either side of the ball.

Kelly got House a raise and extension after 2022, raising his pay to $2.1 million through 2025. That is all you need to know about what Kelly actually thought about House as a coach following the 2022 season.

He certainly wasn't bad his first year. He's clearly an a-hole who no one liked overstayed his welcome.

I believe House would have stayed if it weren't for Jacques exposing the player issue
What? We had the worst defense in school history. That's what got him fired.

I also think that Kelly used House somewhat as a buffer for a lot of his bad decisions
What decisions were those?

People forget that Kelly is a defensive coach, so I would not be surprised if Kelly had his hands is some of the debacle that was the defense last year.
The last time Brian Kelly coached a defense was 35 years ago. Kelly is now more of an offensive minded coach. There's a reason ND had a reputation for putting TE and OL into the NFL for the last decade - Kelly.

This is because, despite having a very limited roster with limited talent, House did a decent job in 22. He was comically bad in '23, the players hated him, and he had to go.

sorry but couldn’t this also be taken as anti-Kelly?

Am i missing something that we think this is for sure aimed at House?

House had the ability to fire people without Kelly approval??

Maybe the emoji of the house=clown? I think that gives it away pretty easy who he is talking about.

Matt House’s biggest downfall was his lack of connecting with players. And probably people in general lol. Some guys are better suited for the NFL and maybe not necessarily calling plays.

I recall Cullota interviewing the new coaching staff one by one prior to the 2022 season. Nearly all of them were engaging and interesting. The house interview was the opposite. Dude had the personality of dry toast.

BK interviewed Brad White defensive coordinator at UK, he turned down the position , but recommended House who he previously worked under at UK .

You are in the highest level of football in the NFL and it bothers you that you were disrespected on the college level
Good riddance Cain

He fricked our chances at having a CFP run, so he deserves all of the criticism thrown his way.

IDGAF what house did in 2022

2023 was a DAMN ABOMINATION

he cannot adjust.

we scouted bama and milroe for ages.

dumbass house instead of making him have to throw to beat us lets him beat us with his legs so then all his passes worked well also.

house was playing a 1-5-5 defense at times.

you thought that shite would "contain" milroe? maybe on the edges?

but what about the gaps between tackles he could run through?

insanity.

milroe destroyed us like that. 4 TD's rushing and over 150 yards rushing. and he still had 350 passing. LOL

made house look like a chump.
