Juluke and Craig got their panties in a bunch because they weren’t being kept and were telling any recruit/coach that would listen to not come to LSU.

Actually, they thought the likelihood of anyone being retained was slim and then they started leveraging themselves to land at FSU, bama, etc. Once, O got the job they were kind of fuct no matter what.

What the hell are you talking about? Jaluke and Craig were fired the day after NSD in Feb 2017 for whiffing on Akers and Wilson. Craig was the RC and evidently was confident that he was getting these guys and Jimbo stole them out from under LSU...

He’s referring to Les.

He went to Alabama to have a shot at the Heisman and to win championships.

We have not beaten banama in 8 years. We have not been to a playoff and have to beat Bama to get there.

Seems that was important to him.

Lol. He has pretty much zero shot at that as a corner regardless of where he went.

I understand but what has that got to do with Jaluke and Surtain Jr? That was a year and a half later...

I guess when Orgeron got the job, Jaluke knew he was going to be fired by him. He, while still being employed by LSU, was telling Surtain things about Orgeron to make him not want to come to LSU and play for Orgeron.

That’s what I gather is what happened but I don’t know for sure.

That is what dont make sense to me. Jaluke was a year down the road from the recruitment battle for Surtain. I assumed the OP was meaning after he was gone. He is with ULL and I suppose still had recruiting talks.

He was fired in February 2017, a full year before PSjr signed, most reports indicate he decided to sign with Bama after visiting there in late Jan 2018

I’m not the messenger here. I’m just telling you what I assume is the story from what I read.

I have no idea if any of this is true or not.

I understand both of these, what I’m saying is if Juluke told PSsr or Jr while JJ was still on LSUs staff it would seem unlikely that had any effect since it was a year before Jr signed and reports were Jr decided on Bama late (let’s leave the conspiracy theory’s aside) in the process.

It would not surprise me though if he did either before or after based on what I’ve heard about him and as others mentioned Ott does have good contacts in NOLA

Alleva deserves the ultimate blame for this.

If your staff is full of low character guys who will sabotage your program, it doesn't matter when you fire the head coach. Even more reason to fire him at the first opportunity.

You can argue that he would have had a better chance at the Heisman at LSU since it would be more likely, but still unlikely, that he could play corner and WR and return kicks ala Woodson.

Juluke, former Karr head coach, spoke with the Surtain family(Surtain Sr. a Karr alum) and painted Orgeron as being on the hot seat and shite like that

Jimmy Ott is frlm the West Bank and his father coached Surtain Sr. at Karr.

This story was mentioned by Ott and Hanny a while back and is 100% true
