You think we have a huge problem against App State if Lee doesn't play? Seriously?

Lee needs snaps period. I don't care if it's against St. Mary's Girls College (well, that probably wouldn't help him much) but the guys has zero college snaps. He simply needs to play. It's not about the opponent.

And I'd bet his arm strength is comparable to Tim Rattay's in collge

I don't agree with this.

Rattay's arm isn't what you would call strong, but Hatch's is below average.

It may be--I've never seen him throw a pass--but it seems like a dude that big who's a good athlete could at least make all the short throws.

Short throws he'll be fine, its the down field, esp the sideline routes 20 yd+ outs, that he struggles with.

Lee has been alot more accurate and can make the down field throws. He should be back 100% in time to see significant time for App State.

But, if he's not, the word i've gotten is that JJ WILL be something special, hes got all the tools. Just let him get comfortable in Crowten's system....

those scared me with Flynn throwing them too. I love a strong-armed QB probably more than the next guy--it opens up so much of the field. But I don't think we should just throw our hands up and forfeit the season if we have to go with Hatch.

I don't think Crowton would have recruited Hatch if he couldn't throw a football. Lee may have an edge, sure...but that doesn't mean Hatch can't throw the ball downfield to Byrd, Lafell, and Toliver. At least it sure looks like he can thow a ball on the youtube highlights. LSU will make some big running AND passing plays on the 30th. JJ will develop. And who knows...with a little luck LSU may win the SEC again. Next season we'll have a ton of weapons at the qb spot. Mark it down...'09 and '10 BCS champs.

I'm sure if Hatch is the starter the play calling will be different than if Lee or, heaven help us, JJ plays.
