Settles what, frickhead? I simply said, that as a resident of Team JJ even I found it more than odd that Miles sat Lee when he did. So much so that I mentioned it to the guy next to me, who was thinking essentially the same thing. As much as I think JJ gives LSU the best chance to win, to suggest that Lee would have some how been a liability going in with 8 mins left up 21 against Arky is just plain idiotic. It felt like it was disciplinary...which if any of this story turns out to be true would have it make sense.

If true what a dumb mistake...I know - I made many mistakes at that age as well but to go through what he had to go through then to pull something like this is DUMB
not making grades as a 5th year senior is dumb for anyone, nevermind a football player but any student in general. it's not uncommon for a freshman or sophomore to struggle with school as college cane be a big adjustment; i can attest to that from personal experience when i was in college. but if he really hasn't matured enough to at least be eligible (which is very easy), that's just unacceptable.

What the hell am I doing here?
Does anyone else think it's odd that Jordan Jefferson's uncle is about the only person defending Lee against unfounded accusations?

Blaspheme! Blaspheme!
Not the ultimate student-athlete/leader.
He never does anything wrong.
He's LSU's Tebow.

I find it hard to believe a guy who has been in school this long can manage to get below a 2.0 however in one semester unless he was damn near ineligible to start the season
pretty sure you don't even need a 2.0. from what i understand, you just have to pass a certain number of hours. i could be wrong, but from what i remember one of my friends who ran track years ago, that was the case. athletes don't have to follow the same academic standards the rest of the student body does in terms of academic probation and whatnot.

Well if he is around 2.3-.5 and gets a 0.0 or something similar for a semester, that would get him pretty close. But I find it hard to believe that someone this close to a degree would piss it away. Stranger things have happened though.
you have to pass a certain amount of classes each semester to remain eligible. i think it's 6. you can't just play football and fail everything, regardless of your cumulative GPA.

This is the year of domination on the field and whining on messageboards. Classic LSU moronitude.

message board whining will be present win or lose. that's why it's called the RANT. there will always be controversy over something, regardless of the situation. same can be said for any and every fanbase

Mett is way better than lee. Hopefully lee can't play vs bama either

I disagree pal. We are #1 with a clear path to the bcs game and stocked with talent at all positions.....for years to come. That isn't the same as a whining ole miss fanbase, sorry. It's laughable. Pathetic.

I'm jus saying, Bama fans were saying on message boards they wanted to fire their offensive coordinator after the LSU game when they were still #3 in the nation and one of the best offensive productions in the conference. they also won a national title with him 2 years ago. i'm just saying that as long as you have a fanbase that cares a lot about a sport, you're going to have situations come up where people bitch about something. go read a kentucky basketball message board, pure lunacy even when they're undefeated.

It might not be just grades, but attendance. At least when I was at LSU, some courses had mandatory attendance for a certain % of classes. If you failed to attend the mandatory % of classes you automatically failed regardless of your grade. I know this was the case for the foreign language courses. Thus, he may have already missed too many classes in a given course, which may put him in jeopardy of not passing enough hours to be eligible.
I'm not claiming to know anything, but from putting together a string of rumors it seems the problem is not grades, but attendance (or a combination of both).

even if that might be the case, my opinion is still the same. going to class a couple hours a day is not such a burden that it should ever be the reason you are doing poorly in a class. a 5th year senior should realize that by now. of the classes i had in college with attendance policies, most of them actually made it part of your grade, and that was the easiest way to get free point for your final grade. hell, you don't even have to pay attention, just show up. it's pretty ridiculous if he's struggling with passing or attending at his age. like i said, it's not uncommon for a 18-19 year old to do this, but at some point reality sets in and you mature. if he hasn't figured that out by now, that's just, bad.
Posted on 11/29/11 at 9:50 pm to lsufball19
I agree at 21-22 years old, if he missed too many classes, he has nobody to blame, but himself.
However, some people were talking about him not playing Saturday to study for finals. It appears that this is more of an attendance issue.

oh i did say that earlier, but that was just conjecture over what les might be doing if lee isn't making the trip to atlanta, as he wouldn't be ineligible yet (making him stay back and study so he can pass his finals). if i had to guess, it's probably a combination of both. not making the trip to atlanta wouldn't lead me to believe he's not only skipping class as i'd guess classes will be over by then.

However, it's still a bullshite rumor until somebody comes forward with some actual personal knowledge.
Just an observation for the hell of it. As I understand current law and university policy, that will not happen unless Lee himself decides to "come forward". That is until he actually is ruled ineligible, dismissed or whatever and it is then obvious. So all information will be "hearsay". In my opinion, there is something clearly amiss with young Lee other than the disaster in the Alabama game. I doubt any of us will ever know the details.
