I guess you weren't on TD on gameday, but there was at least 50+ threads on this.

But..

You're 100% right. The stadium was embarrassingly red and black. I described it as almost looking like a bowl game, except their fans were mute. It got loud in there but only on Georgia possessions and tiger touchdowns/first downs/etc.

I'm not sure what happened. The only way they were able to get that many tickets is if the season tix holders listed them. For what it's worth, sometimes the $200-300 premium on your seats is hard to pass up, but I cou'd never see something like this happening in Bryant-Denny or Sanford Stadium.

The red stands out significantly more than purple and gold. It just does

This lacks some context historically, though. While what Georgia did IS impressive, it’s sort of unprecedented in the current state of the SEC.

With the current East/West rotation being every 12 years, it gives a lot of motivation for teams to travel to these games when they have the chance. This was a perfect storm of a championship contending team from the East visiting one of the premier road trips in college football (New Orleans + Death Valley). It’s no surprise so many UGA fans made the trip out of it and would pay a premium for seats to not miss it.

The only other SEC teams that have been contenders since the new rotation has been set have been Florida, Auburn, and Alabama and they all get to visit Death Valley every other year, not once every fricking 12

I am completely agree that they brought a crap ton of fans..

That being said, that red really pops when you look around a stadium.

This has been rehashed to death. It’s time for these threads to stop. We won the freaking game and our fans were great. Let’s move on.

It’s not like UGA fans used nefarious means to obtain tickets. They bought up a bunch of available tickets before the season began and then bought a few thousand more from LSU fans who sold out on the team. The fact that we lost to UF the week before certainly didn’t help matters for us either. Is it embarrassing, yes, and it will probably happen again when the Gumps come to town. Some “fans” care more about making a quick buck than getting their tickets into the hands of other Tiger fans who could use them.

If you think generational ticket holders who don’t care are a problem at LSU talk to Notre Dame fans. My ND friends said a lot of season ticket holders live in Chicago and only make one game a year, they are happy to sell all other tickets and it’s a big problem for games like UGA.

You have not been to many LSU games obviously. Not being rude but you don't qualify. You must just go to games where we play ooc teams that have never been ranked and we pay 2 million to get em here.

the UGA turnout was impressive, but there were some games in the early 90s when AU, Bama, and FL had a ton of fans in the smaller stadium.

While overall expansion has helped the conference, its not great for the casual fan who wants to experience different road game locations. In the 12-team SEC you played everyone at least once every 5 years and visited every east school once every 6 years, so I thought I would easily make a LSU road trip to every school by my middle aged years.

However, now the places I haven't visited yet in the East (Mizzou obviously, South Carolina, and Tenn) I have to plan to go years out because if you miss it that year its a 12 year wait. So it makes sense that every UGA fan who wanted to attend a game in Tiger Stadium probably was there.

I go to almost every home game every year. Care to provide examples of games where visiting team outnumbered UGA on Saturday?

Blame it on LSU for selling out to StubHub. It wouldn't have happened when LSU had their own ticket exchange.

I was actually in attendance on Saturday. I'm not scrolling back 20 pages to find these threads.

Sometime in the 80's Nebraska came to Tiger Stadium (Back when they were good. It was a 6-6 tie) The entire south endzone was UN fans probably 30 or 40,000 fans

There were a lot of UGA fans at the game.
I agree - way more than what i expected.
Noticed it as soon as we parked.

t was crazy watching on TV. Every time they panned around the stadium, all you could see was red with some yellow and purple sprinkled in.

Really fricking embarrassing.

you're getting downvoted like crazy, but this is the truth. An entire upperdeck was solid red.
