I’ve been ok with LSU leadership staying quiet on this while things played out, but clearly this is personal for Sankey.
You want to talk LOIC? It seems to me Sankey has lost control of the institution he represents. Take him to court and make him get in front the cameras again.

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has filed an amended federal lawsuit against LSU, head coach Lane Kiffin, athletic director Verge Ausberry, LSU president Wade Rousse, and Louisiana Attorney General Elizabeth Murrill, alleging that LSU violated the SEC’s First Amendment rights of expressive association by recruiting and preparing to roster former NFL players during the 2026–27 season

From the SEC's filing. It quotes Lane Kiffin's halftime statements to ABC: “Imagine if we had pro players.” And it says that, postgame comments and silence from President Wade Rousse: "confirm the lack of institutional control over the athletics program at LSU that is required
If the SEC includes Lane's halftime comment in their suit, it sure seems like a 1st amendment countersuit by LSU is in order. Looks like the SEC walked right into it.
