It's time for Dugas to go back to being the leadoff hitter so we can win a championship.

When our offense was at it's best, Dugas was hitting leadoff. Obviously, when he was fresh off the injury, it made sense to eventually drop him because you could see the issues he was having at the plate, almost immediately after the injury.

I also understand getting Crews the most at bats. I'm not saying that's a bad strategy either, he's been the most consistent offensive player all year. Him and White being 1 and 2 are probably part of the reason we're seeing these starting pitchers being chased from the games so early.

That said, I think Crews should be used a little differently. I think he also needs to be hitting with a potential runner (or 2) on base. Pearson hasn't been terrible in that regard, though. I just think we've positioned 2 of our best hitters in a spot that limits their effectiveness with the amount of runs they can score/drive in.

We have a guy with 100 RBIs batting 2nd, and with how ineffective the bottom part of our lineup has been, essentially, you're only giving him a shot to drive in Crews or maybe Pearson. At least drop them each 1 spot in the lineup, and if not Dugas, maybe someone else can be leadoff. IMO, it'd be better to have Dugas and Tre ahead of them, but beggars can't be choosers.

I feel like the lineup we've gone with was a better lineup when the wind was blowing in and made sense then. It allowed us to play more of a small ball game, rely on pitching and manufacture some runs.

Also, I would add to this that most of our HRs in Omaha have been 1 run shots. It will continue to be that way if we don't allow Crews and Tommy to hit with people on base.

Thoughts, opinions, should I go screw myself?

He's had some great at bats this series too. I think that's as important as anything. We need to get their pitch count up up up.

Past time! I totally agree with you... But Jay plays the game the way the analytics/stats tell him!

Thanks. I may consider you for the pitching coach position if you keep flattering me like this.

Yea, his at bats have been pretty great this series and in Omaha in general.

Plus, he has a ball magnet that he can activate at his choosing. What's not to like?

Think about the game we lost when crews was on deck if anyone could have gotten on base. That's exactly why you keep Dylan at 1.

I understand your logic but simply you have to get Dylan to the plate as many times as physically possible

If anything maybe flip Tre and Tommy because Tres red hot and not a DP liability too and put more on for Tommy.

But no matter what- get crews to the plate as much as you can

I think they need to shake things up.

Dugas
Crews
Tanks
Morgan
Beloso
Jobert
Milazo (not hitting that bad for CWS)
Pearson/someone else
Thompson

If this were true, he'd have went back to our lineup that was demolishing people. That's the one I'm speaking of.

I completely agree, but I'd keep Pearson at 9. Mainly because I have more faith in him getting on base than JT. That would be another potential runner on base for Dugas/Crews/White.

So, you're saying keep the same lineup so Crews can get left in the on deck circle again?

Good logic OP but I have a hard time with Crews not being lead.

And this offense is having a hard time without Crews and White hitting with people on base.

The whole lineup needed to have been shaken up. Probably too late now.

I agree but it’s too late to change. I think the only change you will see today is Milliazo at catcher. Bottom line is we need guys to step up and get the big hit when called on. He is not gonna change the lineup IMO.

Need to move Dugas to 8 or 9. Can’t have 5-9 not do anything and blank for several innings tonight. Someone in the 5-9 needs to get on base.

Only reason you question him is because we lost yesterday. If we won, then you would think he was a genius moving the hitters up like he did.

Sorry but the lineup stays put. I love Crews leading off instead of possibly coming up with 1 out or Tommy Tanks up with double play to end the inning as a factor

I've been saying this for a while.

There's really no argument. The stats prove it.

I'm not saying the lineup changes, but what I will say, is if it stays the same, it's greatly handicapping our offense.

I actually like the idea of Dugas leading off followed by Crews, Morgan then White, just so we don’t have a slow runner ahead of Morgan. Tanks rbi opportunities will still be there, plus Morgan strikes out less.
