re: It's one man's opinion, but maybe the most disheartening telltale sign yet...

AND, this team has terrible fan support. I mean TERRIBLE. our fans don't deserve a winner.
The 2011 season had some of the best atmospheres I've ever seen at TS, and many of those weren't even night games. As the team goes, so goes the crowd. Start looking better on the field and the fans will show up like gangbusters. So, yes. The fans DO deserve a winner. And any player or coach would tell you the same thing.

When the team quits vs MSU, they don't deserve a sell out crowd. The team should care more than the damn fans do.

I myself am disappointed not in the stands (well, yeah that too) but more in the sideline. Not coaches either. There's not much activity when it's an important drive, a defensive stand, a defensive stand is needed, etc. The only people that seem to get excited are special teams... and they are playing like "special" teams (especially punt coverage).
No LSU player should ever feel like he's on an island (excepting CBs... they should have short memories and feel like they can take the world on by themselves).

I don't care how hyped up Troy may be, when an inferior program coming into Tiger Stadium has the perceived edge in the "intangibles" column, that's frightening. So is the fact that these guys really think they can win.
Jesus H...
This is from Dandy Don...this shite isn't gospel. It's only true if you believe it. Simply choose not to.

Guess No Team Fears Playing LSU Any Longer??

It's just the uneasy feeling the fan base has had since the hire. We did lose a legendary coach that went 100+ n 30smthin. Then replaced him with an unproven coach who failed at his first shot. Bad hire or not it's too early to throw in the towel on O. As far as Troy is concerned they are a good team catching us injured, young in spots, new offense, new HC.. they should feel good. With that said I think this team will respond and won't come out flat and undisciplined again. Imo our team knows they just can't take anyone for granted. Troy could probably line up and bear Syracuse or come close. Lsu gains confidence with a big win. Lsu rolls 41-19!
