nah little jerry, I understood completely. One poster said he wanted a link cuz he thought that LaFell wasnt open, then three more posters harped about how open he was and how badly JJ missed him. Its like you are disappointed and cant understand how its possible that a 19 year old throws a shitty ball on his first snap in front of 92k that are looking for an answer at QB.

According to rantards this is stupid. You are supposed to throw the ball 40 yards down the field on every drive.

I'm not saying that JJ is setting the world on fire but I also know that we are a "run first" team and people need to take a good look at the following stats before saying that he is not coming along. Below is the passing stats for the QB's of the top 6 teams in the polls and while JJ is on the lower end of these he is playing in the same ballpark and has just begun to break the ice on his career give him a break.... all he has done this season is lead his team to victory in both games that he has started (both BCS conference games) without a turnover! At age 19 years 3 weeks!

I think that's what the first 4 games of the schedule were intended to do.

Also, when Chris Mitchell and RJ Jackson are in the game every other play, it's a clear sign that we are, as Lafell said, nickel and diming. Their presence is a sure sign that this offense is not ready to take a chance and uncork itself and take off.
I don't know what this means. RJ has caught the longest completed pass of the season from JJ. Toliver hay have more YAC on his TD passes in week 1 but RJ caught a deeper thrown ball. Also, Mitchell was wide open in the endzone on the deep ball JJ overthrew to him.

JJ is managing the offense wonderfully this early in his career...nothing short of what a Matt Mauck was doing in his Senior year. Werent we the bubble screen kings back when Mauck was QB?

JJ simply isnt a consistantly accurate thrower...not in practice or games. But he doesnt make big mistakes and makes enough big plays with his feet and arm to help LSU win.

Im sure the offense is gonna open up more and more as we get to the meat of the schedule.

I appreciate the fact that they are bringing him along slow and he is not turing the ball over. I think if they brought JL along slower last year, he would not have had the season that he did last year.

My concern from what I have seen, is if we get behind and have to start throwing to catch up. You can put stats on here or whatever you want. I'm just going off of what I see. I hope this improves over the next few weeks by a lot. Because I think we will be in trouble with the better SEC teams if it doesn't. But i am pulling for him and the team.

I see this LSU's tipping point. Do we continue to hang onto the ball, secretly harboring that we won't do well against tougher competition; or do we go all out, using all our weapons, while risking the interceptions, and hoping our defense steps up enough for us to outscore everyone we play?

According to BT, that's when JL comes in and lights it up.

JJ needs to become a better pocket passer, no question. I also have no doubt that the staff is erring on the side of ball control, and the game plan is pretty limited in that regard.

I think JJ could become a very good all around QB if he would stay in the pocket a bit more, instead of dumping it off or running. I will say the same thing I said last year though about the QB situation.

Last season the staff continually put Lee in situations where he had problems and I will give JJ that same benefit of the doubt. You play to your QB's strengths, it seems Miles and Crowton learned from last year.

We have also not been playing from behind in the first two games. We were forced to some extent to play more aggressive last year because we had to put up a lot of points. This isn't true for every interception last year...just the season as a whole.
