lol at blaming assistant baseball coaches

You obviously weren't watching/listening to the game, I was. LSU was up 5-1 in the top of the 4th (making it 22-2 for the weekend). The Miss State crowd had done nothing except for boo when Cohen got in the umpires face after a State pitcher threw at Nola for calling time. The State team had no energy, the crowd was sitting on their hands, and then....

Javi Sanchez sent a runner into a dead out instead of letting Mikie Mahtook bat with 2 runners on base. Even if they walk Mikie, Nola would have come up with the bases loaded after he doubled in his first at bat (great at bat after getting thrown at). That was two runners out at home on back to back batters and all of the sudden the State crowd was on their feet and cheering befoe the Dawgs even had a single runner on base. The top of the 5th ended when Sanchez didn't stop Watkins from running into the 3rd out at 3B with Mason Katz coming up to the plate with two runners on.

Javi Sanchez snatched momentum from LSU and gave it to Miss State while getting the crowd into the game.

If Mainieri can't make the changes that need to be made following this season, then he should be run out of town.

Maybe it's time for Alleva to step up to the plate and force his hand.

Alleva is damn lucky the football team has regained it's footing or the money sources really would be drying up. For the life of me, other than horrifically overpaying for a womans basketball coach this man hasn't done squat.

The commentators for Thursday's game seemed to think LSU is a very talented team and were baffled by their conference record.

1) What else has he had the chance to do? Everybody loved both basketball hires at the time.

2) Do you honestly want your AD--any AD--telling your national championship winning coaches what to do with their assistants? Seriously?

Oh-Noz. The crowd was cheering?

I hope we never have to face that type of obstacle again. Damn Javi for giving the Miss State fans something to cheer for.

Everybody knows that a 4 run lead is never safe when the crowd is cheering. I mean we could have hit the ball a little better in the later innings, cut out the fielding errors, and struck out a couple of more batters in the 9th...but how can you do that when the crowd is cheering? Impossible I say!

And another thing, count me in as a big Matty Ott supporter. He has had some rough spells, and it has cost LSU some games, but I'm pulling for the guy every time he gets the ball in his hands. The closer role in baseball takes alot of guts!!!

I am also a big Ott supporter. Whatever happened around mid-season last year (there were a lot of rumors), Ott pitched great in the SEC Tournament, and he had a very good summer. He returns to LSU looking pretty good. Then, it starts looking like 2010 all over again.

Could be wrong, but that speaks: Pitching coach problems to me!
