His family would have to be patted down if they came to the games.

Who CARES where they are from? They are all Tigers, and that is good enough for me.

I tend to agree, but it is a little sweeter when a La kid is leading the Tigers

Agreed. I like to see the kid that stayed in state with all the pressure from other schools like Alabama come here and do well. They are representing there home state.

I agree. Regardless of where they are from, they are at LSU!

Ditto, you think Urban & Bob worry about where the starting QBs are from, I'm thinkin they just worry about how they are playing and how good those Heismans look on the resume

Respectfully, I don't care where they hail from. Like many say, if you're not a Tiger, you're Tigerbait...likewise, if you are a Tiger, you are a Tiger no matter where you're from.

Further, many in-state players were "destined" to go to LSU and often expected to. The out-of-state players often choose LSU over local or in-state schools and probably usually in conflict with family, friends and the community. THAT MEANS A LOT!!!

You're right...I would never want a kid from Tyler, Texas or Santa Claus, IN leading our team.

I know it may be selfish and not to offend or diminish the contributions from players outside the state. It is good to see passion, intensity and leadership coming from one of our own.

I didnt realize anyone gave a rats arse where the player was from.

Me too, I take it as LSU was impressive enough to draw a talented kid away from his home state and college. Hard to do sometimes.

The way I look at it, when a kid makes a decision to come and play for LSU, he's an adopted Louisianian and always will be and should be accorded the respect and appreciation that goes with that decision. Lots of these kids had other options but chose LSU and that should mean something.

They're all Tigers.

But, everyone loves the hometown kid playing for the hometown team.

Wow, this thread brought out an entire army of retards (not rantards, retards) with excellent reading incomprehension skills. I don't quite get how him saying he enjoys seeing a Louisiana boy at the helm provoked some of these inane responses. I'm sure he also enjoyed seeing all the other QBs excel as well, it's just been a while since we had a decent starting QB from LA.

God, this place can really lower an IQ.

I see the meaning of the post was completely ruined. I know LSU has plenty of quality out of state recruits who have come to exemplify excellence JR, Flynn, Mauck, Davey, Addai, Bowe, Highsmith, etc etc. Me personally get an extra sense of pride when they read out keiland williams from lafayette, louisiana or hester from shreveport, louisiana(my hometown, i'm in the navy stationed in virginia beach). Jefferson is the first qb I can remember that has led lsu since Josh Booty and we remember that ride. Just hearing them say he was brought up and raised in Louisiana and hearing that New Orleans drawl just revs me up. It is something to point out to my kids that exceptional players can come from louisiana ie the Mannings, Reggie Wayne, Kevin Faulk, Brandon Jacobs etc, etc. Props to all the players who decide to come to Baton Rouge and rep our Great state.
