What future is being mortgaged?

If Howard isn’t any good, we bring in another QB.

That doesn’t make sense Also, if what you say is true then that’s fricking terrifying. LSU is going to mortgage it’s future on a kid whose dad makes decisions for him and whom, despite being the best qb on the roster, doesn’t want to play yet because he’s afraid he isn’t ready to succeed. Someone who thinks like that is not a killer.

I don’t believe this story at all and I don’t know the Howard’s but I highly doubt that they are that soft

Did you just wake up yesterday and become a college football fan??? This is modern college football. The kids are making decisions for THEIR future. Not you and mine or LSU's. Go watch Culotta when he spoke to Jamie Howard, on the many occasions he did. Hell Jamie Howard got thrown in when he shouldnt have and see how that went. The plan all along was for Walker to red shirt. Now like the poster above said, if the competition isnt "OPEN" next year and Walker doesnt get a legit shot. Dude is transferring. And I dont blame him. This is how the sport is now. If you dont like it bitching about it doesnt solve anything. GO watch something else.

Walker Howard went to Elite 11 and got beat by both Conor Weigman and Cade Klubnik with Klubnik winning the competition...Weigman is the starter for A&M going forward and Klubnik will be the starter going starting next week in the ACC championship game. Is Howard ready to start for LSU....no way...the old adage that LSU needs to develop a QB....in today's football there is no developing a QB they show up on campus and either can play or can't..if Howard could play he would be starting for LSU!

What does this even mean?

By every account, LSU didn’t even court Daniels, it was the inverse. And it was a no brainer after you see your QB room is useless Myles Brennan, Garrett Nussmeier, and hurt freshman Walker Howard.

There’s zero evidence to suggest Kelly will stick with a player, especially a QB, because of reasons outside of level of play.

SO he got beat by 2 starters and that means he is not good?? He came into LSU recovering from a broken leg. And also was planning to red shirt no matter what because of his dad. This is the reason why with Myles and Nuss on roster with him they went out and got another quarterback. Are people really this blind to what has been going on? Step back and take the Jayden is god glasses off. Think about everything I am saying. It is pretty obvious.

If Daniels returns, the only hope for Nuss and Howard is at another university. IMO
If Nuss was in contention for the job now or next year, he would have been left in the game when Daniels was injured. No way we were going to win, so why not give Nuss sor Howard some experience. What happens if Daniels is injured early in the Georgia game. We will have no QB with experience.
Maybe he will have an excuse!!!

Actually we have.. go look at high school footage, go listen to Moscona or anyone who has been at practice, Hell go watch Elite 11 footage and listen to them talk about him. Dude is special. That doesnt fit your narrative or whatever but its true. Oh and by the way, he is also considered a dual threat for anyone who thinks they can just write him off because "Kelly only wants someone who is able to run the ball" that is not true at all.

Yeah their season went really great with weigman as the starter

He didn't start the entire season. He looked pretty comfortable in his first start.
He is 1-0 vs a four year starter. No fumbles or turnovers.

And you lost me. I’ve seen all that too. Unfortunately, that doesn’t matter until you prove you can do it in the SEC.

Not one human being alive has seen him throw a pass in a college game. You can assume and use probability all you want but nobody knows what this kid really has until he shows it.

I hope to hell that one day Walker Howard is the first pick in the NFL draft, but we have all seen a million can’t miss phenom quarterbacks miss horribly

Also, I don’t have a narrative other than I want to see LSU win a shite ton of football games

If the O line is solid then Walker will be the guy. If not then Daniels will need to run for his life and run when receivers are open too

I agree that we might have 3-5 NFL receivers, but they did their part in our poor passing game. They dropped several very important balls. aTm WR did not.

LSU will probably end up with 5 losses this year. That’s a failure of a season. No way you keep a QB who can’t pass as the starter and not go with your young star QB who is by all means the future.

Actually, enough scouts and coaches have seen WH throw the ball in game situations, practice, on film and in person and the consensus is that he has excellent mechanics, quick release, and hits receivers in stride.

This is not and never has been the case with JD.
