I was at a bar and a young white man from MS who played football tried to convince me they had 4 to 5 kids who ran legit 4.1/4.2 40's in high school. He actually got angry when I laughed.

Holy shite. I would've told him to never say that out loud again. I don't think the average person knows how rare a sub 4.4 is. How many track guys did Oregon have that were going to run in the 4.2's and ended up running 4.4's.

Like someone said, everything is relative. The kid is obviously fast, but his 4.52 is NOT elite. Not saying it needs to be...he's playing football, not running the 100. I'm not sure what the argument is here. Fast, yes...but he's not Bennie Brazell, OBJ, or Trindon Holliday fast. That's a statement of fact, it's not subjective. A cursory look at the 40 times in the combine last year (look it up on ESPN) would put a 4.52 in the bottom half of the CBs and WRs that year. The kid should lower his speed a bit in college, but I think those who are saying his speed is not elite are simply comparing it to players who were considered to have elite speed.

2 cbs in the 2015 nfl combine ran lower than 4.44. if TJ runs a legit 4.52 now there is no reason he can't get to 4.44 by the time he runs his combine 40. facts

Nobody said a full high school of 4.4 guys. I said number of players going to college. I swear some of you can't read.

But also, I don't recall me calling you dumb arse either. Now we call all come here and disagree, but when you start calling me out of my name we have a problem. Now if you want to have an adult discussion, we can, but if you want to resort to that we can always meet here in Baton Rouge and deal with whatever issue you think you have. I'm in Sherwood Forest just in case you think its a joke.

Im not making dumbass statements. Your," speak for yourself smart-arse remark is too thanks". For the record, no one you ever played football with ran a 4.39 or lower in a combine setting.

The fact that where I live means something to you or makes you THINK something about me is as sad as some of you here. It says more about you then it does me.

That's what I thought we were doing. But to answer your other question about me playing with or against guys who could run or ran 4.39 or better. Keep in mind not everyone is invited to Indy. But Warrick Dunn was someone I mentioned earlier and he ran 4.28. Now was that in Indy I'm not sure and as I said Kevin Franklin was faster then him. I know if you are from Louisiana and especially Baton Rouge, you know those guys and the times being legit.

get your point. But you're still wrong. 4.52 is fast

It is good speed for Johnson, but it's not fast for a football player of Johnson's size. It's not like Beckham was flying down the field in high school and he was like 170lbs.

LINK

With training he could increase his speed.

. Show me one link that says he ran an electronic timed 4.28. I don't care about hand timed times. He cane out the year before electronic times were used. While Dunn had elite speed,he wasn't a 4.28 guy.

No hand timed 40 time is legit. Bottomline. Human era dictates you had a tenth.

Dunn hand timed at Catholic High may have ran a 4.28/4.3...but as a freshman at Florida State he ran 4.46 on the grass

Hand timed Donte Jackson ran 4.24...but laser timed at 4.36 i believe

Tyron running a 4.52 is very respectable...Josh Reed was one of LSU's Best receivers & he did NOT run faster than that...dude just played on roller-skates & had body lean while not losing speed

of the 44 WR's at the 2015 NFL combine, 22 had official 40 times faster than 4.52, 17 had official times slower than 4.52, and 5 DNP's. If you include the 5 DNP's with the below 4.52 (assuming they didn't run because they didn't want to put up a slow time, which I think is a fairly safe assumption) then Johnson would have ran a 40 time smack dab in the middle of WR's who were invited to the 2015 NFL combine. So it could be said that he has average speed of the elite college WR's (who are probably faster than the average college WR's)

also add some time to his 40 because it was hand timed then subtract some time from his 40 because he wasn't training specifically for the 40 like the WR's do that go to the combine. Those two factors are probably a wash.
