Saban is still an incredible coach. The biggest issue this season is that he doesnt have passing QB like he has had the last 8 yrs.
Milroe is like Manziel and waits for the play to breakdown and scrambles or finds a WR that came open. He is nothing like Young, Jones, Tua that hits the short to intermediate route quickly and efficiently.
The QB play will determine Bama success just like it does with every other team
I noticed Saban has toned it down on the sidelines the last few seasons. I think this has to do with age and maybe even health.

The portal. Players will transfer if their feelings get hurt.

Hard to say if it’s the beginning of the end for him, but it does seem like NIL has turned CFB into the NFL in the sense that you now have to court the best players and kiss their arse. Not really Sabans cup of tea. I watched most of the game last night, didn’t seem like he was overly pissed about things at times, when usually he would be red faced pissed. Maybe he’s watching his ticker these days or maybe he just realizes it’s a whole new ball game that he didn’t really want to be apart of.

Attrition is part of the process. Those that can excel in a Saban environment stick around. Those that don’t excel try somewhere else.

I disagree it has anything to do with Saban. It has to do with opportunities. Guys like Drew Sanders, 5-star LBs, are not going to wait long to get playing time no matter what Saban does
. Sanders knew he'd be the backup at Bama and made the decision to go to Arkansas where he immediately became a star. This will be a common thing with the NIL/transfer portal era.

Arkansas can pay way more for Sanders and give him more playing time than Bama is willing to pay and play for a backup LB.

Expect a lot of teams to look at the Bama 3-deep roster to fill some holes.

Any sophomore or junior on Bama not starting could likely start a lot of places and pull in some good NIL.

I’ve been hesitant to think it because he still brings in crazy talent but he had no answers last night. There were several close up shots where it looked like all the color left his face and he couldn’t believe that it was only game 1 and this is the best qb he has. He looked shook.

Shocked, as I'm sure Saban is, at how terrible their QB room is. How does that happen under him?

Trust me, someone like Saban hates what cfb is becoming.
as do I.

I've heard that several times.

I'll believe it when a result like this becomes more common.

Been paying attention the last few seasons? They're done.

He left the NFL for the same reasons he will not coach much longer
NFL players didn’t respond to his nazi tactics
The new college players aren’t going to respond to his tactics
They will transfer in a heartbeat
If he doesn’t win a natty in next 2 years he is gone
