Southeastern might have been a "sure win".

The whole always wear white at home has run its course. Nobody under the age of 60 cares that it was bad luck to wear purple. Wearing white the last few years hasn’t helped.

It is great branding. But all of college football has run its course, to tell the truth. It’s pro football now, so why give a shite about tradition? It’s just moneyball now.

Now show all the losses with white. It’s just a uniform.

No. They went many years without wearing them which was considered bad luck at one time.

Gold-purple-gold is bad luck at home, but not on the road (we wore them in the 2000 Peach Bowl against favored Georgia Tech and beat them badly; also won at Miss. State 45-0 in 2007 and 30-26 in 2009.

The gold-purple-gold curse at home and "purple pants" are the only superstitions regarding LSU uniforms that I'm aware of.

Long time ago Purple Jerseys were bad luck. So LSU stopped wearing them for a few years.

I love it when people make stuff up.

The mandate for dark jerseys at home came in 1983.

And Dinardo had an exception made for LSU as long as each opponent agreed.

Might wanna go look at some old LSU football pix

I did a google image search for LSU football in the 1960s. It took scrolling through like 8 pages of pics to find that pic of Stovall in what appears to be a purple jersey. Literally, every other pic (and all that I can ever remember seeing) were in white jerseys.
