Sadly, it appears our golden age of football may be over. On the good side, it'll happen again in 50 years.

Come on guys, he put some work in on that post. I put some work in reading it, but still ...

I dont get it. People must have a really short attention span. This is why our news has been dumbed-down to sound-bites and one-sentence, scrolling tickers.

How much time do some of you have? There is no way I would have been able to read that much less type it.

And every one of the highs was a product of total luck or random circumstances. LSU wins the 2003 bcs championship after getting voted in by a computer system and afterwards this springs widespread change in the overall weight system when calculating who was to be in the big game. Eventually being abolished altogether. All started by the split title. Got here and stopped. Nearly every championship that has ever been won has been the result of at least a little bit of "luck".

We won the '03 championship because of Saban's vision and commitment. We won the SEC on the field. We beat the no. 1 team in the country in the BCS championship game on the field. That team was talented and disciplined and did the small things well consistently enough to win a championship.

There are too many LSU fans that don't get it. It's why the administration knew that people would settle for O as HC because a critical mass of people think teams win championships primarily because of "luck". Those who try to hold the staff accountable are just "whiners" or "not man enough" or not "loyal LSU fans."

LSU can win championships without having someone named Nick Saban as head coach. It's not a mystery or based on luck or the fates. It involves being committed to excellence and demanding results from your multi-million dollar per year coaching staff.

LSU won't win if people are convinced it is based on luck. LSU won't win with the current level of sloth and corruption. That's the bottom line.

Snoopy was certain
That this was the end,
When the Baron cried out,
"Meddy Christmas, my friend!"
