Thing is "biggest" is objectionable, next season we may say the Alabama game is biggest.

I agree, that's why I wanted to get people's opinions and put it in quotes.

In terms of highest ranked teams I think it ties with '59 Ole Miss game. I don't think there has been a 1 vs. 2 but correct me if I'm wrong. Combine that with the rewards for both teams, especially LSU (division title, potential SEC and national title, first undefeated regular season since '58) and the time of year it fits my definition of "biggest."

I'm freakin jacked for this game. Mike's post was dead on and I hope fans bring their A game. If ever there was a time for Tiger Stadium to live up to its reputation it's Friday.

LSU could beat Arkansas and them they lose their bowl game falling out of top 10. That would then make the "biggest" look funny. The game is important that is as much as I will say, as far as biggest we have to see how season plays out

If availability of tickets among my group of friends is any indicator (and it usually is), this is going to be a big game. No tickets out there to be had (without paying over sticker that is and I don't do that.

I'll be there with bells on in my seats with my husband, my nephew, and a friend of his. I am so pumped!!!!!

Or 03 vs Georgia

This. Cause the game friday will not be as close as these. I would take the 07 FLA game before the 97 game.

not sure what more you need for this to be the biggest game ever in Death Valley.

I agree. Only a 1 vs. 2 with the same circumstances would be bigger, in theory anyway for me.

I think the OP makes a good case. In the history of our program, there has not been a higher ranked opponent, LSU is No. 1, and Championships are on the line for both teams.

I guess '59 vs Ole Miss compares, but we didnt' go on to win the title.

There are a lot of great wins in TS with championships on the line '03 Georgia, '07 Flordia, '07 Arky.

But this one has more of a historical impact: 12-0 regular season would be a first for LSU.

I would say it is definitely the biggest game ever in Tiger Stadium.

Win and we are a virtual lock for the NC game, even with a loss in the SECCG, lose and we are virtually shut out of the NC game and possibly even a BCS bowl.

03 Georgia and 10 Alabama. The 10 Alabama game was the turning point for our coach and this team.

Clearly this is the biggest game in TS history. Number one LSU versus number three Arkansas in a season finale which determines whether LSU completes its first undefeated regular season in half a century, wins the SEC West, wins the SEC, and plays for the national championship.

It's logically impossible for there to be a bigger game.

It perturbs me that some quarters of the LSU fanbase are (apparently) having difficulty grasping the importance of this game.

Tiger Stadium should be more raucous than it ever has been on Friday.

With al that is riding on this game and I was born in 1961 and believe me have attended some very big Tiger games, but this is definitely the biggest game in Tiger Stadium IMO during my lifetime. Now living in Montana so want be there in person but I sure hope the crowd will be jacked up.

You could argue that all home games were equally important as if LsU had lost any they wouldn't be here now.

This is a horrible line of thinking. With everything on the line on Friday, this is the biggest game. Not only are there SEC and BCS Championship implications, but this game is the only obstacle between us and an undefeated regular season. Couple that with our recent history with Arkansas, and you have the makings of the biggest game played in this stadium.

To say anything less is foolish.

We have had some big games, the one that stands out to me in terms of national title implications and not just upsetting a high ranked team, is the 2007 Florida game.

We were AP#1 and Florida was like 6 or 7 and Tebow was on fire that year, won the Heisman eventually. That game had a lot on the line and was our first in Tiger Stadium as the #1 team in 50 years.

If you are just going for big game in relation to where you are as a program, three games come to mind.
1995 Auburn. Troy Twillie int in endzone.
1997 Florida. Beat #1 for first time
2003 GA. Skylar Green TD puts LSU on way to title.

Agreed, you hit the proverbial nail on the head. Wish I could be there but just cant make it in time from Montana. I sure hope the crowd is ready.

I think that all the games in the 1958 National Championship year were just as important. I personally vote for 1997 UF game. All eyes on 3.

From what I hear (particularly from my father), The Halloween game against Ole Miss was on the level of the LSU-Alabama game this year in terms of buzz and anticipation. Obviously the media hype couldn't have been what it was for November 5th, but the implications were.

This game has much bigger implications than that game. There isn't really any logical way to debate it.

And still no on all these.

At this point in tune, yes. Everything riding on winning this game.

Why without winning those home games, this game would be null and void and no longer have the implications that it does.
